Birth Doula

Two in-home, in-person prenatal meetings—approximately 2 hours each. In these sessions I support you in preparing for a healthy and comfortable end of pregnancy, help you consider a postpartum that will work best for you and your family, help you identify and articulate your wishes for your birth in a way that is easy to communicate to your care team in the final days and on your birth-day itself, prepare you for the signs and symptoms of labour, teach your support person (partner, friend, parent—whoever you call family) hands-on comfort measures to assist you in early labour, teach you positions for early labour, and provide you with an early labour kit including a TENS machine—at no additional charge—so that you are ready for early labour when it begins. Access to my support through text and email throughout your pregnancy, for questions, updates and reassurance—with phone calls arranged at your request. 24 hour on-call support for your birth, from 37 weeks until you have your baby. Regular check-ins by text, and phone if needed, from 37 weeks until you have your baby. Name and number of your backup doula from 37 weeks. The opportunity to Zoom-meet your backup doula, should you wish. Text and phone support through early labour. In-person support (informational, emotional, and physical—according to your wishes and needs) in active labour or when you require in-person support, whichever comes first. Support for you and your personal support person through your birth and the immediate postpartum period (one or two hours after your birth). One postpartum home visit of one-two hours, usually in the first two weeks after your birth. Access to my support through text and by phone through the first six weeks after your birth.

Mimi made THE difference between a potentially distressing and re-traumatizing birth experience, and a powerful memory I can look back on with pride and joy for the rest of my life. I personally had planned for a home birth but ended up needing to be in the hospital due to PROM. Mimi knew and cared about my birth plan and helped me achieve a birth that still felt as close as possible to the type of birth I was hoping to have. She also really honed in on the type of emotional and physical support that I needed in a very personalized way. My midwives were very impressed with her knowledge and presence, and literally told me to "recommend her to everyone" so that's what I am doing. Thank you Mimi!

Hiring Mimi was one of the best choices we made for this pregnancy. She was so kind, down-to-earth, and always there when I needed advice or reassurance. During labor, she knew exactly what I needed—whether it was a calming word, a cold compress, or just a hand to hold. She also made sure my Husband felt confident and included, which meant so much to both of us. I honestly can’t imagine going through birth without her. She captured some great pictures of us as a family right after my baby was born, that I will always treasure. I very much appreciate her postpartum check-ins as well.

Mimi was my birth support doula and she was phenomenal. She was a critial person in making my birth experience beautiful and peaceful. I was initially disappointed that I needed an induction since my plan was an unmedicated birth. Mimi not only helped me achieve the unmedicated birth I was hoping for, but she also helped me to enjoy the process while providing tips and tricks to really speed up my labour. She was also there for me after my daughter was born to provide very valuable support. Anyone would be lucky to have such a skilled and warm doula at their birth! Thank you Mimi 🥰
