About me

Hello! My name is Katie :) As a birth and postpartum doula, I am passionate about honouring the birth and postpartum experience; by helping families feel supported, informed and heard throughout the process. Having experienced three beautiful births at home, I have a deep respect for the physical, emotional and immensely personal journey of bringing a baby into the world. My personal experience has lead me here - pursuing a career in birth work that is rooted in compassion, respect and empowerment for ALL families regardless of structure, identity or birth preferences. When I’m not working with families, you’ll usually find me at home in Grimsby, Ontario with my partner, our three kids, and two dogs - embracing the beautiful chaos of family life. I love practicing yoga, kitchen dance parties and you can usually spot me in the stands as that overly enthusiastic mom cheering way too loudly at my kids’ sports games.

Service introduction

Whether you’re looking for full prenatal-to-postpartum continuity or more focused support during birth or after baby arrives, the goal is the same: to help you feel informed, supported, and held through your experience. Birth doula packages include prenatal visits (focusing on birth preferences, childbirth education, hands-on comfort techniques and positions for labor, etc.), continuous doula support during labor and delivery, immediate postpartum care in your birth location and a postpartum visit in the early weeks to support your adjustment at home and process your birth experience. Postpartum doula packages are curated based on anticipated need, but highly customizable to your unique circumstances. Daytime packages focus on newborn care and education, household help and sibling care, emotional support, physical recovery support and so on. Overnight postpartum care is also available, with the goal of helping you and your partner have longer stretches of restorative sleep during the early weeks.

Complete Birth Package

This package is ideal for first-time parents or anyone seeking comprehensive, continuous support. Includes: - Two prenatal visits. - Access to the Client Portal - support you can return to anytime with thoughtful resources and guidance for both birth preparation and the early postpartum days. - On-call availability beginning at 37 weeks. - Continuous support during active labor and birth. - One to two hours of support immediately after birth to assist with bonding, feeding, and early recovery. - Virtual or phone check-in within the first 3 days postpartum. - One postpartum visit, two hours in length scheduled 1-2 weeks after birth. - Unlimited phone, text, and email support from the time of booking through six weeks postpartum.

Essential Birth Package

This package is available to families who have experienced at least ONE previous birth or are preparing for a planned cesarean section. Includes: - One prenatal visit focused on your specific preferences and prior birth experiences. - Access to the Client Portal - support you can return to anytime with thoughtful resources and guidance for both birth preparation and the early postpartum days. - On-call availability beginning at 37 weeks. - Continuous support during active labor and birth. - One postpartum visit, two hours in length scheduled within the first 2 weeks of delivery. - Unlimited phone, text, and email support from the time of booking through six weeks postpartum.

Designed to support you as you recover, rest, and adjust to life with a new baby. 5 visits, 3 hours each (total of 15 hours). Optional Additional Hours: Additional postpartum hours can be scheduled as needed at $40/hour.

What is your approach to birth support and prenatal care?

Prenatal care focuses on informed, calm, and personalized preparation. This may include birth education, comfort measures, birth planning support, and emotional preparation so you feel confident and supported entering labour. As a new client, you will gain access to the Client Portal, where you will find a detailed package outlining our prenatal visits, as well as resources and guides to support you throughout birth preparation and postpartum.

What is your approach to postpartum care?

I focus on creating a supportive space where you can rest, recover, and feel confident as you adjust to life with your baby. My work with families is rooted in calm, respectful and non-judgmental support - allowing you to feel held, rested and prepared as you navigate life with your new addition. Every family’s needs are different, and support is always tailored to you.

Do you support diverse family structures, identities and birth experiences?

I welcome and support families of all backgrounds, identities, and family structures. This includes diverse cultural experiences, relationship dynamics, and birth preferences. My approach is rooted in respect, consent, and non-judgmental care. Every family deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I aim to provide care that is inclusive, affirming, and responsive to your individual needs and lived experience.

Do you offer flexible pricing or payment options?

I understand that investing in doula care is a big decision, and I aim to make support as accessible as possible while honouring the time, energy, and care involved in this work. At this time, I am offering a founding client rate of 30% off the standard rate of any birth or postpartum package (overnight support is not included in this promotion) as I complete my certification and continue building my practice. This reduced rate is intended to make care more accessible while also supporting my professional development.

When is the best time to book?

Right now! You can hire a doula at any stage of pregnancy, but many families book between the second and early third trimester to ensure availability and allow time for prenatal preparation. Client intake is intentionally limited to ensure each family receives consistent, personalized, and attentive support throughout their care journey. It’s best to reach out as early as possible to confirm availability around your estimated due date.
