Though Tricare does not cover a doula on base, I do offer a military discount for base births for both doula and photography services. I was a teacher before photography and birth work, and I believe that gives me a solid background in keeping the calm in chaos. Hi, I’m Regina — a birth photographer, certified birth doula, lactation counselor, and childbirth educator based in western North Dakota. I’ve spent the last 12+ years supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and those hazy early postpartum days, and I’ve had the honor of attending more than 200 births along the way. I’m deeply passionate about physiological birth, informed choice, and helping parents trust their bodies and instincts—especially in moments that feel intense, vulnerable, or overwhelming. My background in hands-on birth support and lactation care shapes everything I do, whether I’m documenting a birth or walking alongside families as they prepare for baby. At the heart of my work is bearing witness—to strength, tenderness, and the very real, very human way families come into being. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me at home with my husband and four kids, tending to a good book, sourdough, garden, or any number of granny hobbies.

I have always enjoyed helping others. I started my training in the medical field at the young age of 17 when I became a Certified Nurse Assistant. I continued my studies and became a Certified Medical Assistant, Although pregnancy was not easy for my body I thoroughly enjoyed being pregnant. With each pregnancy I was taught natural ways to cope and how to give my body what it needed. This gave me the desire to help other women, that desire continued to grow through each of my 5 pregnancies/ births to the point that I delivered my last baby unassisted and was able to catch her myself. I began my formal training with DONA in 2022 and became a certified birth doula in 2023. I have since worked with 4 midwives. in doing so I have gained great hands on experience and knowledge. I have been blessed to help many women through their own birth experiences. I look forward to continuing to serve and empower women for years to come. I want to continue the tradition of empowering and enriching women’s pregnancies and births, like my midwives did for me. Being a doula I get to do just that

I have also taken training in Spinning Babies, which greatly informs how I support clients in having more comfortable and faster birthing experiences. I have become extremely passionate about homebirth and birth choices for families. I am an RN IBCLC with over 30yrs experience with moms babies. I own Milkyways Doula & Lactation Services and provide a full spectrum lactation service from in-person and telehealth visits. I have a team of IBCLC's, CLC's, Birth and Post-partum doulas, that provide care in other areas of North Dakota. Milkyways accepts most insurances and does partner with Simply You Wellness to bring the first Breastfeeding Medicine Clinic to our area. We are a certified In-Network provider for TriCare.
