Christa Joy Kirtland

Packages from $400

Hi, I’m Christa Joy Kirtland, a DONA-certified birth doula and certified childbirth educator serving families throughout Central New Jersey. My passion for birth support began with my own pregnancy and the birth of my son. As my husband and I prepared for his arrival, I learned so much about the birth process and the many ways to work with your body during labor. After experiencing a positive, empowering hospital birth myself, I knew I wanted to help other families feel informed, supported, and confident as they welcomed their babies. Before becoming a doula, I earned my master’s degree in counseling and worked with young adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and other life transitions. That background continues to shape my approach to birth work today. I believe every family deserves compassionate, individualized support that honors their unique hopes, values, and circumstances. Whether you envision an unmedicated birth or plan to use pain medication, my goal is to help you feel prepared, respected, and empowered to make informed decisions along the way. While birth doesn’t always unfold as we expect, I believe having knowledgeable, steady support can make a meaningful difference in how you experience it. I live in Branchburg, NJ, with my husband, Andrew, our two children, Luke and Hope, and a healthy appreciation for books, puzzles, trying new recipes, and dark chocolate!

We worked with Christa on in-home birth classes and are so thankful that we did! She was warm, informative, and provided us with lots of great knowledge for first time parents (without being too overwhelming). We appreciated her use of visual tools for learning. Would absolutely recommend for birth classes, and I know she would be wonderful birth support as a doula as well. Thank you Christa!

Katia has been my postpartum doula and caregiver for my baby boy since February 2025. She consistently takes initiative in ways that truly lighten my load as a new mom. One moment that stands out was when she noticed I was juggling baby care and chores—without me even asking, she washed the baby's clothes and bedsheets, took out the trash, and even helped cut vegetables for dinner. She always notices what needs to be done and jumps in with such care and thoughtfulness—it’s clear she’s not just doing a job, but genuinely wants to support and nurture. This was my first baby, and I had never used a doula service before, so I was initially skeptical and a bit anxious about having someone new in our home during such a vulnerable and emotional time. But from the very beginning, Katia made me feel at ease. Although she has extensive experience with babies, she remains open and flexible—listening carefully to my needs and respecting our preferences. She remembered all the little things I mentioned and adapted her care accordingly. Even now, with my baby being 8 months old, I still turn to Katia when I need someone trustworthy to watch him for a few hours. That’s how much confidence and comfort she’s brought to our family. Both my husband and I are deeply grateful for her help—having Katia as our doula has been such a positive and reassuring experience. She made a lasting impact on our early journey as parents, and any family would be incredibly lucky to have her by their side.

Being in postpartum has made a lot of things more difficult but Diane's help has made one of those hardest things so much more enjoyable and approachable. She was extremely non-judgmental, very attentive, and very observant. I thought all was lost and the meltdowns would be normal,,but after Diane's visit, both baby and I had a much easier time approaching breastfeeding.

Could not have went through labor/delivery and early postpartum days without gab. As a FTM going through a journey i didn’t know anything about having gab by my side made me calmer, more informed and eased my anxiety. She walked me through birth plans, dealing with the contractions, helped me latch babygirl from the moment she was out. Between the post partum massage/belly binding, just teaching me how to wrap my baby, how to properly feed her, and coming over just to talk through my post partum feelings, I truly could not have done this without her!!

I can't say enough great things about Jossy. We hired her as our postpartum doula for the first six weeks following the birth of my son. From the moment I first spoke with her, I was drawn to her easygoing attitude and comforting nature - I spoke with a number of doulas, and Jossy was the one I felt most at ease with. The conversation flowed naturally, and it was immediately clear how much she loves being a doula. Even though Jossy was only helping us with postpartum care, she was so sweet in sending regular check-ins leading up to my due date and giving tips and suggestions for issues I was dealing with. When I first met Jossy in person, I immediately felt completely comfortable around her and felt comfortable having her in our home and with our son. She quickly felt like a friend I could confide in and joke around with, which made all the difference in the first few weeks of postpartum. Jossy was so loving and sweet with our son, and it was so clear that she cared very deeply about his safety, wellbeing and happiness. After our overnights, she was always checking in to see how she was doing and offering ideas and suggestions of things to try with him. No matter how tired she was after back-to-back overnights, Jossy always arrived on time and with a smile. She was also so sweet with our high energy dog. Thank you Jossy for everything (and I wish we could have you to help us forever)!

Hi New Parents & Returning Parents, My name is Anjanette Rebecca. I’m birth obsessed & I finally have the courage to admit it. I’m a little of a lot of things. I’m a full spectrum doula who supports families and individuals across all walks of life. From zygote to 130 years old. Reproductive health is who I am. Bodily autonomy is what I’ve supported since I was a child. I stepped into my mother’s shoes at an early age. My mother was the original reproductive health guru. My mom passed away before I had time to say goodbye. Grief became the catalyst that changed my life for the best. I meet Individuals and families that are kind enough to trust me with something so sacred. That will always be one of the biggest blessing in my life. I’ve cared for thousands of clients locally & internationally. My ultimate goal is YOU. Your family, your very valid fears, your tears & your happiness. I guide expectant families and individuals in embodying their role as the first teacher in their children’s life. Our body is our children’s first home, it will and always should be respected. I navigated my first pregnancy alone-there’s so much power in being a single parent too. I’m here to hold individuals & families through one of the most breathtaking and potentially chaotic moments of their lives. Parenthood is a massive upgrade and a heroic space to hold. Please don’t let the internet scare you. It scares me! But we have access to so much information. It is normal to feel overwhelmed by it. I pray that you enter pregnancy & your birth space with confidence. Tap me in if you need someone to kick the door off its hinges, metaphorically speaking of course :) As for me, I’m a Brooklyn native, currently enjoying life in Staten Island, NY. I spend most my time having juicy conversations, tending to 179 indoor plants, barefoot & not pregnant :) I spend time off social media, reading books and finding myself in nature. Kayla O'Hare

Staten Island, New York 5 years of experience

Kayla O'Hare

Hi! I am Kayla - a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula who believes every family deserves to be heard, respected and genuinely supported as they welcome their baby. My path to birth work began with my first pregnancy, when I realized that so much about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum isn’t openly talked about. As I searched high and low for quality information, I discovered Evidence Based Birth®, took childbirth education classes, and eventually found my own doula. Navigating that process with my partner and experiencing firsthand how valuable it was to have both education and meaningful support first sparked my passion for doula work. My experience continued into postpartum, where my own experience with a Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder and the journey that followed deepened my understanding of just how important compassionate support can be through the entire transition to parenthood. As a mom of three, former nanny, and avid birth podcast listener, I bring my personal experiences and a deep appreciation for how different every family’s journey can be to each client relationship. My work is centered on the belief that birth can unfold in many ways. I strive to help my clients look back on their births and feel that they were heard, respected, supported, and an active participant in the way their baby came earthside. I especially love supporting clients who feel strongly about their choices and bring that same enthusiasm to whatever path feels right for each family. I focus on being a grounding presence, especially in challenging moments, reminding clients that, when possible, they can slow down, ask questions, and get curious about their options. I also feel passionately about caring for partners and other support people through their own transition so they can feel confident, cared for, and present for the person they love. I completed my foundational training with Carriage House Birth and continue to expand my knowledge through ongoing mentorship and education with Manhattan Birth. My additional training includes becoming an Integrative Lactation and Feeding Specialist, along with continued education in areas such as baby wearing, Comforting Touch, perinatal mental health, and other areas that strengthen the practical care I provide throughout the perinatal period. Outside of birth work, I am a wife, mom of dogs and tiny humans, a nature enthusiast, and an avid reader who is equally happy hiking and exploring somewhere new or curled up under a blanket with my Kindle.
