First baby - hoping for low interventions and unmedicated. Not sure if I am ready to commit to unmedicated though. Either way, I'd like to stay unmedicated as long as possible/as long as is safe. I know very little about labor/birth and have been afraid of it for a while. I'd like someone who is well versed in physical support, and of course mental/emotional support and birth education. I have somewhat of a distrust of doctors and want someone who knows the data on when things are necessary, and when things are not necessary. My husband is pretty squeamish and he may need some mental support too. I am a patient of the midwives at Orange Coast Womens Medical Group and I plan to give birth at HOAG Irvine. I am looking for a birth doula, a lactation consultant, and possibly a postpartum doula. I live in Fullerton, CA - looking for in person services.

I am looking for a birth and postpartum doula that is covered by Kaiser insurance, who is very knowledgeable about the birth process, potential complications and newborn care, who is open to attending hospitals births. I am planning to give birth at Kaiser South Bay Harbor City. I would like to labor at home with my partner and the doula for as long as possible until it’s time to go to the hospital. I am open to an epidural at the hospital but if I’m doing okay or labor is progressing quickly I am open to not getting one. I hope for an uncomplicated vaginal birth. I’d like the doula to know the difference between interventions that might be offered to me at the hospital that are not necessary and what is necessary/ will help my baby to be born healthy. I’d like a certified doula with multiple years experience, age 38+ or older. I am 38 years old, first pregnancy, have a very supportive partner, and hope to breastfeed.

Hi! I’m currently pregnant and looking for a birth doula to support me throughout my pregnancy and labor. I’m hoping for a VBAC after a previous C-section (in Sept. 2023), so I’m specifically looking for someone who has experience supporting VBAC/TOLAC births. I have the ILWU-PMA Coastwise Indemnity Plan with Blue Shield of California PPO insurance, and I’m hoping to have my doula services covered or reimbursed through my insurance. Do you accept Blue Shield of California PPO, or are you able to provide a superbill/NPI for out-of-network reimbursement? I would love some birthing support! Hoag Irvine birth center or Providence Mission Viejo is where I will give birth. This is my second baby, and the first time I got the epidural but it didn’t work. I would love to learn new positions and other pain relief during birth and not use the epidural. My husband is deployed now, and might not be there for the birth.
