Hello, my name is Olivia Augusta Kimball. I am a Certified Doula and Registered Midwife with over 22 years of experience in birth work, having attended more than 3,600 births. My passion is walking alongside families through one of life’s most profound journeys - pregnancy, birth, and the tender postpartum period. I specialize in breech, twin births and preemie babies as well as lactation support, helping mothers and families achieve confidence and success in breastfeeding. My approach is rooted in both skill and compassion, ensuring families feel safe, supported, and empowered in their choices. Now based in the Nashville area, I am honored to offer my services as both a birth doula and a postpartum doula. For those who wish, I also provide prenatal and postpartum massage and ritual offerings as part of my care packages, creating a deeply nurturing, holistic and sacred experience. I also specialize in Placenta Medicine and offer a variety of options for your placenta should you desire. I am committed to holding space for all families, and I have a deep dedication to also supporting queer families with the respect, affirmation, and care every family deserves. It is my joy to bring decades of wisdom, hands-on expertise, and heartfelt presence to every family I serve.

As a Registered Midwife with over 22 years of experience, I now offer my skills in the role of a birth and postpartum doula to support families in Nashville and surrounding areas. Having attended more than 3,600 births, I bring a depth of knowledge, calm presence, and hands-on care to every family I serve. I specialize in: • Birth and Postpartum Care — compassionate support for families during labor, delivery, and the tender days and weeks that follow. • Cesarean Recovery — guidance, comfort measures, and practical care to support healing and bonding after surgical birth. • Lactation Support — helping families achieve breastfeeding success and navigating challenges such as latch issues, supply concerns, or other feeding obstacles. • Specialized Birth Support — expertise in twins, breech births, and preemie care, offering reassurance and skilled advocacy in unique situations. Beyond clinical skill, my work is rooted in whole-family support. I love being a nurturing, reliable presence in the home: preparing simple, nourishing meals, lending a helpful hand around the house, or holding your little one so you can take a shower or rest. These small, thoughtful acts can make the transition into parenthood feel lighter and more supported. I also especially love helping new parents develop systems and develop new baby skills that make life easier. I also integrate my training in prenatal and postpartum massage when desired, offering deeply attuned bodywork when mothers feel most uncomfortable or in need of grounding care. Whether easing tension in late pregnancy or supporting recovery after birth, massage can become a restorative and aligned part of the journey. At the heart of my practice is a belief that every family deserves to feel cared for, respected, and empowered. It is my joy to walk alongside you - bringing clinical expertise, emotional support, and nurturing presence as you welcome new life into your family.
Our Journey with Olivia started when I discovered that I was already almost 3 months pregnant. In fact before I was present at my niece’s birth when my sister also gave birth at home and Olivia was her midwife. Since then, I knew that when I got pregnant I would want her as my midwife. Of course this is a decision to be made as a couple so when I spoke with my husband he was quite apprehensive as we were in the most difficult financial phase of our lives and we could do it for free through the national health system. He told me “ My love, with that money we can feed many poor people and God will be more pleased with us, but you decide” to which I replied “But the pregnancy and birth are very important for the future of our baby and can affect him so much” so we decided to choose Olivia and giving birth at home. It was definitely the best decision. The only decision. Olivia took care of us from every corner that we didn’t even know existed. She gave us so much information and all through natural means. She is very down to earth at the same time. We followed all her advice and we understood all the science involved and I can tell you that the results where amazing. I was hearing and seeing my pregnant friends suffering and with bloated feet etc. I had the best pregnancy ever, no bloated feet, not exhausted, full of energy eating very well and the results were a very healthy son. My birth was not easy at all because of my body structure and my son had his head in the wrong position. It took 14 hours and most of it was in the expulsion part. I can tell you if I was in a Hospital I am sure they would have done a C-section. She advised us at every step in a very smooth and organic way with all the science involved explained and with simple daily steps. And she gave us all her love. On the birth day she involved the family and created the best environment for this very special day. The most difficult and the best day of our lives. I had my husband and my mother always around, and she explained them how to do this special massage to relieve the pain and special smoothies etc. I can’t explain all the magic but in such a difficult moment she makes the best environment happen. After the baby borns she is there for you to assist you in every detail, teach you and make you feel confident and happy without fears (there are so many new parents full of fears and even many arrive to not be able to breastfeed, and simply because they didn’t have this assistance). My husband, one week after the birth, said to me “you know, if we had more money I would pay Olivia much more because really, she is more than great, you were right!” I had amazing recovery after the birth because I followed all her advice and of course my family support. But truly her knowledge is amazing. She has more than 3000 births experience in very different conditions even in African countries with very poor conditions. And I think that that experience and her BIG heart made her a really amazing midwife and friend. I wish I had more words to describe better. Until today years later I ask her questions when my son is sick or I have any doubt, and always I get a complete response of someone who really cares. I hope she trains more people to be like her because this world really needs it. I had a very good friend giving birth some days before me in the hospital. She got no explanations what so ever and when she went home she and her baby were sick. So I advise her to consult Olivia which she did and then she called me and said “sister thank you so much really, Olivia saved us, she is amazing”. We are not aware but there are many diseases and conditions that a baby can get just because of the birth or the pregnancy, especially breathing problems ( like I have) and we can avoid it just having the right knowledge and help on our side. And Olivia, apart from being a good friend, she has that knowledge and gives that help. I know she is not in my country at the moment but I told her when I get pregnant again (soon inshallah) she must come or I will go to her because I don’t want anyone else but her as our midwife. I am sure God will reward her for her great heart and amazing “work”. Thank you Olivia. We love you.

Working with Olivia has been one of the greatest gifts of my motherhood journey. She is a deeply informed, compassionate, and wise midwife who has guided me through some of my most precious and vulnerable seasons. Every time I speak with her, it feels like receiving a warm hug - grounding, reassuring, and full of love. Her knowledge of all things related to women’s health and birth is truly remarkable. From afar, she supported me postpartum through complex nursing struggles, introducing me to the supplemental nursing system (SNS) and empowering me with the confidence and tools to breastfeed as long as possible. She has also been a steady source of wisdom in other health challenges, such as candida, and lovingly taught me how to use herbs and natural remedies to support healing from the inside out. Most recently, during my second pregnancy, I experienced a protein deficiency crisis - and once again, Olivia showed up with the exact insight and guidance I needed. Her ability to gently yet effectively walk me through what felt like a frightening situation is just one example of how she continuously shows up like an earthly angel when I need her most. Her expertise is endless. She is a true wealth of knowledge when it comes to women’s health, and beyond that, she brings a depth of soul and care that is rare to find. Olivia is not only one of the smartest people I know, but she is also one of the kindest and most generous. Any woman would be incredibly lucky to have her in their corner. She is a gem of a human, and I cannot recommend her services enough.

To hold and guide someone through the portal of pregnancy and birth is such a sacred role. We feel so blessed to have had Olivia with us through this journey. The space that she held made it so easy for me to open up and be curious about any of my fears of questions that came up in pregnancy. Olivia has this gift of helping you to move out of this weird normalised conception that birth is something that happens TO you and back to the beauty of birth being something that happens THROUGH you. I had the most wonderful home birth, and Olivia’s presence and service helped my feel powerful and confident in myself through the whole process. She also made us beautiful placenta prints and a tincture that i have to use now for moments of need. After birthing, in those precious few months of new motherhood, Olivia was always there to answer my weird and wild questions. We can not thank her enough.

Olivia was my first choice when I was looking for a midwife. I had so many first-hand good reviews about her and I also knew that she was an incredible human being and our personalities would get along. It was a true blessing to have her by my side during my entire pregnancy. As a family, we felt really protected, safe and empowered with all the knowledge we needed being unlocked by her immense experience and wisdom. I'm driven by my science education, so I needed a professional with updated foundations and Olivia was there for it 100%. At the same time, I wanted to make sure that my pregnancy, the birth and post-partum had the most holistic possible conditions - and all of that was possible thanks to her incredible presence, preparation and guidance. We've learn so much from her in this most sacred moment of our lives and all of our memories all truly happy. Our gratitude towards her is infinite. She is such an inspiration as a women, mother and professional. I hope you are lucky enough to have her by your side.

Having Olivia as our midwife was one of the greatest gifts of our birth journey. From the very beginning, she brought such a grounded, calm, and nurturing presence that made us feel safe, held, and deeply supported. Her energy was like a steady anchor through every wave - we always knew she was there, not just as a midwife, but as someone who genuinely cared about us. Her holistic approach, wealth of experience, and intuitive knowing created an environment where I felt empowered and respected throughout the entire process. She never rushed, never pushed - just gently guided us with unwavering support, patience, and compassion. It wasn’t always easy, but Olivia made it feel possible. She helped us trust the journey and trust ourselves. What touched me the most was the care that continued after birth. Those tender, vulnerable days when you’re navigating life with a newborn - Olivia was still there. Checking in, offering guidance, and reminding me I was doing a great job when I wasn’t sure of anything. Her presence was reassuring, gentle, and so full of heart. If we’re lucky enough to have another baby, there’s no question - we’d want Olivia by our side again. She’s not just an incredible midwife, she’s a truly special soul who made such a profound impact on our family’s story. I’ll be forever grateful.
