What's the Cost of Hiring a Night Nanny in Pasadena, CA?

The cost of a night nanny in Pasadena, CA can vary depending on the specific services offered, the experience of the nanny, and the number of children being cared for. On average, the cost of a night nanny in Pasadena, CA can range from $20 to $35 per hour. Some night nannies may also offer overnight flat rates, which can range from $150 to $300 per night. It is recommended to research and compare different night nanny services to find the best option for your needs.

The cost of a night nanny in Pasadena, CA can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Pasadena, CA, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. This process will help you find a night nanny who meets your needs and fits within your budget.

Josée (pronounced Joe-say) is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) providing compassionate, evidence-based breastfeeding support for families in Pasadena and throughout the Los Angeles area. Josée’s passion for supporting families began while living abroad in Ghana and Haiti, where she worked in several community health clinics and developed a deep appreciation for maternal and infant health across diverse cultural settings. These experiences shaped her commitment to providing inclusive, respectful, and individualized care for every family she works with. After returning to Canada, Josée completed a Bachelor’s degree in International Development at the University of Guelph before pursuing advanced training in lactation and infant feeding. In 2015, she graduated from the Lactation Medicine Program at the Jack Newman International Breastfeeding Centre in Toronto, one of the leading breastfeeding education programs in North America. In 2017, Josée became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) after completing extensive clinical training in human lactation and passing the IBLCE certification exam. The IBCLC credential is the international gold standard for lactation care, requiring rigorous education, clinical experience, and ongoing professional development. Josée’s approach to lactation care is grounded in evidence-based practice, compassion, and inclusivity. She believes every family’s feeding journey is unique and strives to meet parents exactly where they are—whether they are navigating painful breastfeeding, concerns about milk supply, newborn feeding patterns, pumping, or simply looking for reassurance during the early weeks with a new baby. Her goal is to create a supportive and non-judgmental space where families feel heard, respected, and empowered to make informed decisions that work best for them and their baby. Josée currently runs a private lactation practice in Los Angeles and lives in Pasadena with her husband and son. She provides breastfeeding support for families throughout the surrounding communities, including: • Pasadena • Eagle Rock • Highland Park • Glendale • Burbank • Alhambra • Hollywood • Downtown Los Angeles

We just made it to a full year of breastfeeding, and I truly don’t think we would have made it without Josée's help in those early days. She was so calm, kind, and reassuring during a time that felt overwhelming and emotional. Breastfeeding was feeling so complicated, but she helped us come up with a simple, realistic game plan that worked for our family. Her relaxed approach gave me so much confidence in my body, and I am incredibly grateful for her support. I recommend her to every new parent I know!

Hi, I’m Iliana! I’m a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula based in Los Angeles, and at my core, I’m a student of life. I believe in curiosity, imagination, and the strength of humanity. We’ve made it this far by showing up for one another, especially during life’s most vulnerable transitions, and that belief sits at the foundation of how I approach this work. Before becoming a doula, I spent years working in film and visual storytelling. That background deeply shapes how I support families. It taught me how to read a room, stay grounded under pressure, notice subtle shifts, and honor someone’s story without trying to control it. Birth is not so different. It’s unscripted, intimate, and deeply human. My role is to be present, observant, and steady, allowing your experience to unfold in its own way. In both birth and postpartum, my focus is connection. Connection to your body, your baby, and the people supporting you. I support all kinds of births, whether hospital or home, unmedicated or with an epidural. There is no one right way. I aim to demystify the physiology of birth so the unknown feels less intimidating, while also helping you feel more at home in your body. If you have a partner, I help you move as a team, offering tools for communication, grounding, and nervous system regulation. I strive to be a calming presence you can orient toward if things feel overwhelming. Postpartum, that support continues as you settle into life with your baby and find your rhythm. I’m here to support your story with care, curiosity, and deep respect for how human this season is. :)

We were so, so grateful to our past selves for reserving Veronica as our night postpartum doula! When we came home from the birth center just hours after giving birth, we knew Veronica would be there on that very first night to help ease us into the major life transition of becoming parents to a newborn. She was also incredibly flexible when our baby arrived 11 days past our due date. Even with all the research and preparation, there is so much anxiety and uncertainty around bringing a baby home as first-time parents. Veronica brought a sense of reassurance and calm that is truly priceless in such a pivotal moment, providing just the right amount of “newborn care 101” exactly when we needed it. During those early weeks, having her by my side through every single breastfeeding session — especially during those quiet early morning hours — made an incredible difference. Whether it was every two to three hours or whenever our baby needed, her breastfeeding support, gentle guidance, and nurturing presence helped me feel confident, supported, and deeply connected to my baby. Her hands-on support and parent education allowed me to feel empowered and truly cared for as a new mother. With decades of experience, Veronica offers guidance rooted in tried-and-true techniques, while still being attentive to each family’s unique needs. We had originally planned to transition to one of her assistants after two weeks, but we chose to continue working directly with her because our baby absolutely melted in her arms, and we felt completely confident in her care. We later signed a second contract with her around the three-month mark for gentle sleep training and sleep coaching (no cry-it-out, just attentive and responsive support), and within two weeks, our baby was already sleeping an 8-hour stretch and sometimes even 10 hours! It’s not cheap, but the peace of mind, rest, and support are truly priceless. Looking back, we truly feel that the support we received during those first weeks helped us build a strong, confident foundation as a family — something we will carry with us for years to come. Thank you, Veronica, for your care, your wisdom, and the calm confidence you brought into our home during such a special time. We can't recommend her enough to any family looking for exceptional postpartum support, breastfeeding guidance, newborn care 101, parent education, and gentle sleep training — she truly makes a difference.

Trauma informed and judgement free, my role is to provide psychological, educational, and physical support while advocating for your needs and desires throughout any aspect of your prenatal, labor + birth, postpartum, or lactation-related experiences. I have an enduring personal history in birth-work and movement/dance, and a strong belief that birthing people deserve the care, information, and support they desire. Hello, I'm Cierria Leyazhié or you may call me Apache, and I believe birth is one of God’s most beautiful and sacred calls. My passion is supporting mothers not just through the physical act of labor, but through the profound spiritual and energetic transformation it demands. My approach is built on three distinct pillars: Pillar 1: Christ-Centered Care & Hypnobirthing: I equip you with Scriptural affirmations, prayerful grounding techniques, and Christian Hypnobirthing methods—helping you replace fear and tension with profound relaxation and faith, working toward a gentler, less painful birth experience. Pillar 2: Ayurvedic Wisdom & Doula Training: My commitment to holistic health is backed by rigorous education from the Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS), where I earned certifications as an Ayurvedic Wellness Educator and Ayurvedic Health Practitioner. I then completed my full-spectrum doula training with the Sankofa Birthing Collective. I guide mothers toward balanced health, focusing heavily on Vata-pacifying principles—the ancient practice of using warmth, nourishment, and deep rest for true physical and nervous system recovery during the crucial 42-day postpartum period. Pillar 3: Advanced Lactation & Education: As a Certified Lactation Educator who is actively working to complete requirements to become an IBCLC, I provide high-level, up-to-date, evidence-based childbirth and feeding education, ensuring you have the practical tools and specialized knowledge necessary for an empowered birth and a successful breastfeeding start. Whether through Ayurvedic food guidance, gentle herbal recommendations, or prayerful presence, I am here to help you experience a birth that is peaceful, powerful, and deeply honoring of your body and your faith. A Holistic Approach to Your Fourth Trimester Whether it is through preparing Ayurvedic "warm-natured" meals, providing gentle herbal recommendations, or offering a prayerful presence, I am here to ensure your postpartum period is a time of deep rest rather than depletion. I am dedicated to helping you experience a birth and recovery that is peaceful, powerful, and deeply honoring of your body and your faith.

This was my third pregnancy/birth but my first time having a doula and I could not imagine a better person for the job! I enjoy how easy it was to work with Cierria on not only what I'd desire to have for pregnancy but also the assurance if things went differently than planned. She keeps it realistic while also respecting your choices and is a powerhouse in advocating for her clients while striving to encourage working in tandem with your doctor/care team, not against them. It was very much appreciated when I was feeling vulnerable. This time around postpartum has been way easier to adjust too as well as I've had breastfeeding support, dietary recommendations based on my unique recovery and goals, tips for physical recovery and she's always left room to adjust any of this and is a great chatter. Sometimes you just want to vent with no actual goal and she's all for it. I've had such a blast with the whole experience that a fourth child might be possible with her as my doula again haha!

To me the most important thing about this work is the human touch. Having grown up attending births in my family, I am a supportive, intuitive experienced doula who centers the whole family. You are the parent, not the patient to me. I focus on helping you move your body in ways that will help bring the baby down, using my hands, heart, and breath work at the center of my care. I have experience with many community births at home and in birthing centers (Simi Valley Birth Center and the Brooklyn Birthing Center), as well was with many hospital births in Los Angeles, Ventura, New York City, and Seattle. I am passionate about giving normal, humanizing service and advocacy to disabled and high risk parents to center your voice, needs, and access from start to finish. In order to provide a stronger service within the disability community, I work with a partner or group.

Working with Alison was a wonderful experience. From the beginning moments of telling her about my pregnancy through to the post natal experience, she showed her strong intuitive skills, used her sense of humor and was able to guide us through this wondrous process. Alison was especially helpful at offering clarity around my choices in labor and especially a strong supporter when I felt pressure from my team of doctors to take the epidural. Alison reminded me that I had a choice and that freed me to make the right decision for me. Alison was also adept at councelling my husband and I throughout our pre labor experience around the myriad of changes, emotions, wonders and fear that having a child brought up for us. She always provided a safe environment for us that was healing, engaging and fun. Alison used her intuition to guide us in working together as a couple and was able to read exactly what we needed individually and together. Alison used her own weatlth of knowledge from various areas in her life to support us and remind us of the constant flow that occurs in labor and in child rearing. This helped me to trust in the process; something I am not always great at! Her kindness and ability to be present and focused was an immense help to me in the delivery room. From talking a family member away from the delivery room, to navigating doctors, to coaching my husband to helping me and giving me space when needed was amazing. I happily and whole heartedly recommend Alsion to work with as a birthing partner and aly on the birth journey.

Hey there! My name is Nikki and I'm so excited to support you and your family during this transitional time! Caring for families during the most exciting but also most vulnerable and scary time in their lives is my passion and calling. I particularly take interest in helping LGBTQIA+ families, neurodivergent parents, and parenting after infertility. My job is to leave a family feeling better than when I arrived by providing emotional and physical support, education, information, and resources.

Recent review

TLDR: We wholeheartedly, without reservation, recommend Nikki. Trustworthy, kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, excellent. Hire her! More Details: After 3 months in the hospital (a month on the perinatal high risk unit with preeclampsia, then 2 months in the NICU after emergency c-section), Nikki stepped in to help us when we finally brought home our little preemie. We were terrified, exhausted, lost, confused and traumatized. I'm not sure how we would have managed without Nikki. My husband and I were AMAZED constantly at her knowledge and skills around our newborn. This little alien lifeform that I had no idea what to do with, she just knew intuitively. She also helped take care of me making sure I always had a full water glass, making sure I ate, making sure I could shower and nap. Another thing I really really appreciated about Nikki was her lactation knowledge. Because of the preeclampsia/c-section/prematurity, our breastfeeding journey was just rough. I was pumping every 2-3 hours, and also going to appointments with IBCLCs and OTs to try to help, and also trying all the different pumps. Nikki's knowledge and advice was SO helpful. I would be overwhelmed at trying to figure out how to use this stupid new pump I bought, and Nikki very patiently figured it out and helped. She accompanied us to appointments, gave input, and helped implement suggestions. Besides all of that, she was just easy to be around, which was huge in the early days. Easy to talk to, good sense of humor, open and authentic. She would come in the early morning, and quietly come take the baby out of her bassinet while we were passed out trying to recover from a rough night of wakings and pumpings. Plus she did a lot of extra stuff that I'm not sure is even part of doula care? In my early postpartum haze, I decided it was the right time to try to make challah for the first time (what?!) and she was on board with me, helping me make the dough, while also experimenting with a wearable pump at the same time?! We also really appreciated that she was never judgemental or critical, always objective and answered questions and problems from a place of knowledge of evidence and experience.
