Labor, Postpartum, lactation and Infant Care Specialist (ProDoula) Growing up, I was empowered having been around so many strong, independent women and it led me toward a path of wanting to carry that into my career. I believe that pregnancy and birth and postpartum are monumental life experiences that no one should have to do alone. Every person so matter their background or beliefs deserves support and respect as they venture through this major life transition. My personal philosophy of what doula embodies is a person who stands beside the new parent(s) to help with guidance, validation, and empowerment. I’m a postpartum doula, lactation educator, and Master Health Coach with a Bachelor’s in Health Education and a passion for practical, evidence-informed, and nourishing care for mothers and families after birth. With over a decade in healthcare, I support families through the realities of early postpartum life, from physical recovery and infant feeding to newborn care, nourishing meal preparation, rest, and the everyday tasks that can feel overwhelming with a new baby. My approach is mother-first, with hands-on support that helps mothers feel cared for while they care for their babies. I’m also a mom who has experienced the messy, beautiful, and humbling parts of postpartum myself. Hi, I’m Nicolette Meinert, the founder of Family In Bloom. I have worked with children and families since 1997, when I completed my first American Red Cross babysitting course. My path in early childhood care began in Wakefield, Massachusetts, where I volunteered in summer-school and after-school programs while attending Galvin Middle School. I went on to study Early Childhood Education at Wakefield Memorial High School. Since graduating in 2004, I have worked as an infant, toddler, and preschool teacher and as a full-time nanny, caring for children at many stages of development. Hi, my name is Kimberly. I am the manager of Gentle Beginnings LLC. I started my birth doula career back in 2020. I was a new mom and realized I had a passion for doula care and I decided to jump into it! Unfortunately, the pandemic made it quite difficult to attend births in person but that didn't stop me. Over the years, I learned many new families didn't just need a support person through birth but also for all the phases that followed. Currently I'm working towards my pediatric sleep consultant certification. My business partner, Evelyn, has 30+ years of experience as a nanny and newborn care specialist, and has recently been certified as a postpartum doula as well. We both decided it was time to start a new company that offered all the services! Throughout the 26-year journey of raising my sons, and being a nanny and caregiver, I have gained knowledge, skill and wisdom.
