I’m Chaya, a DMV native and proud mama to three beautiful children. Since beginning my student midwifery journey in 2021, I’ve come to truly appreciate the profound importance of ‘intrinsic’ birth. My journey started in nursing, with the aim of becoming a labor and delivery nurse. I earned my CNA license, NRP/CPR certification, and full-spectrum doula certification in 2019. In 2020, I began apprenticing as a student and birth assistant for a local home birth midwife. Running Intrinsic Motherhood and working part-time as a clinical tech in a local hospital’s L&D unit has further fueled my passion. I dream of becoming a CNM and opening my own practice to offer families the comfort of home births, just as I experienced with my own children. As a placenta encapsulation specialist, birth photographer, and perinatal advocate, my heart has always been set on supporting mothers during this sacred time. From a young age, I knew I wanted to guide mothers through their journey into motherhood, and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
