This is our 2nd baby and we didn't have the best experience in the hospital during our first birth in 2019. Now that I'm pregnant at 40, we're looking for more of a natural experience, with less of the trauma. We have found a doula through this site and are now looking for a midwife to assist with home birthing. We're completely new to this idea, but are very open to it. My medical insurance is through Medi-Cal, specifically Anthem Blue Cross. I've noticed that providers within your company accept it, I'm just not sure to what extent considering this is my first time looking into this option.

This is my first baby and I am 42 years old. I want to go as natural as possible, no drugs, etc. I don't know if I am going to end up with complications or not. I am having my first baby and I’m hoping to do an unmedicated water birth with little intervention as possible. I’m hoping to get support for myself during this pregnancy and for my birth where I feel my OB isn’t fully able to assist. I currently plan on birthing at Mercy Folsom Hospital in Folsom CA in their birthing center. I’m not sure on budget as I am unsure what the range or scope looks like or where to even begin. I am really excited for this time and truly feel a midwife will add so much to this experience.

I also want to find someone who would be open to transferring to the hospital if there were complications. I am looking to establish a care team to assist me with a homebirth. I am due in June 2027, and I am hoping to locate someone in the el dorado hills, Folsom area that takes blue cross PPO insurance. I am also looking for someone who could possibly bring the birthing set up with them for the home birth if that's possible. I just found out a couple weeks ago that I was pregnant so I am early to the game but just trying to understand how this might look doing a homebirth. I guesss budget wise.. I would like to keep the cost under 2k if I can utilize insurance as well.
