I was born and raised in south central Kansas. I am a Registered Nurse, a certified First Aid/CPR Instructor, and a Safe Sleep Instructor. I married my best friend in 2023 and our days are filled with home renovation projects and entertaining our St. Bernard puppy, Mabel. I have a fairly restrictive diet, so I love spending time trying out new recipes to satisfy my sweet tooth! I chose to become a Birth Doula because I have a strong, undeniable passion for supporting pregnant people. Nothing brings me greater joy than getting to come alongside women to be their cheerleader and trusted resource. Gentle Heart Doula Care is more than just a job for me -- it is a calling. As a mama bear to three littles with a partner that travels more than half the year I have the experience of solo parenting and the unique challenges that brings to both the home and the relationships. My passion as a doula is empowering pregnant women to take control of their prenatal preparation. I learned with my first pregnancy that birth is a huge physical feat, so I give you tools and simple movement exercises (that I wish I had back then!) which will train and balance your body specifically for the task at hand: pregnancy, birth, and recovery. I hired a doula for my first two births and I was SO grateful for that decision!! I gave birth at a free-standing birth center, with the support of her and my spouse. If it wasn't for my doula, I know I would not have made it through the marathon of labor! I came away feeling supported and strong. I because certified as a doula in 2016 and then recently became trained as a Body Ready Method Pro. My wish is for everyone to be able to bring their baby into the world feeling supported, cared for, and prepared. I believe in the empowerment that comes from taking charge of your own labor which reveals a deeper strength you didn't know was there.
