About me

Hey! I’m Saralicia Waugh, a certified birth & postpartum doula practicing in Central MN. I started out as a birth photographer in 2017 and my passion for helping families discover what birthing options are available to them so that they can make informed decisions and have an empowering birth experience led to me diving into doula support in early 2024. I then got certified as a birth and postpartum doula in March of 2025. Although I am focusing on doula support at the moment and not currently offering birth photography sessions, I am happy to use your phone to take pictures and videos of you during labor/birth so you can preserve these precious memories. I believe families should have the power to take back control over their birth experience and tune into their innate instincts so they can play an active role in their care for a family-centered, positive outcome. When I'm not at a birth, you can find me making art/designing, spending time in nature with my 3 homeschooling kids, or learning how to make new foods from scratch in my kitchen.

Service introduction

I am a Christian birth & postpartum doula who services all of Central MN and most of the Twin Cities metro. I’m located in Rice, MN and travel 85 miles surrounding St. Cloud. I have a special interest in working with families who have had a prior traumatic birth experience and am trauma-informed, but am excited to work with families of all experience levels to help them make informed decisions, learn how to advocate for their unique birth preferences, and aid in helping them achieve a positive birth experience. As a fellow loss mom, I also offer free bereavement doula & photography services for families experiencing perinatal loss. I am committed to providing families a broad spectrum of information and resources about the benefits and risks of all childbirth options so they can truly decide what options are the best fit for them. My goal is to help you feel safe and heard during your birth and postpartum experience and teach you how to play an active part in making decisions surrounding your care so you feel in control.

I had a very difficult pregnancy and most decisions were out of my control. Saralicia helped myself and my husband prepare, make informed choices, and create an 3 different plans to advocate for myself depending on how delivery went. With her support, I had a birth experience that was even better than I imagined—empowering, positive, and without pain meds which was important to me. I seriously couldn’t recommend her more highly!

We had AMAZING birth experience, and Saralicia was there to capture it and we wouldn't have it any other way!! She was so professional, discreet, kind, and respectful! The photos she captured were beautiful, and truly captured the beauty of our birth and allowed us to be in the moment, and look back on the photos to relive our experience forever! I HIGHLY recommend her services!

Saralicia did our maternity, birth and fresh 48 pictures. She did such an amazing job! She listened to all of our needs and was always available to talk. She was on call ready for me to go into labor, so she was even there when I went into labor 2 weeks early. We got our pictures one month after having the baby and she came to our house to show them to us. She is amazing and I highly recommend her! The photos are absolutely breathtaking!

We had a wonderful experience all around. The meetings went smoothly and we felt like she listened to our ideas and wants. We lived a few hours away from each other but the night I gave birth she made it early and spent time capturing the moments during labor I might not have remembered before I got my epidural. The video and photos we received were perfect and she made sure to leave out any images I wanted to keep private. Birth photographer can be pretty expensive considering the photographer has to be on call and come at any given time. Price wise and content wise it was a wonderful deal and I would do it all over again.
