My favorite moment during birth is seeing the laboring person tap into a strength that most do not realize has always been there. I am Kayla Connors; a black birth worker from Allen Park, MI. While black and native laboring people statistically face more complications from and after labor, the inflexible nature of the healthcare system impacts ALL of us.
