Hello everyone, my name is Siera Sweitzer, and I’m a DONA-certified birth doula located in Charleston, Illinois. My journey to becoming a birth doula began after my first birth—an unexpected emergency cesarean. When I became pregnant with my second baby, I knew I wanted to do everything I could to have a completely different experience. Through a lot of self-advocacy and by hiring an amazing birth doula, I achieved the birth I had worked so hard for. In that moment, I knew more women needed access to the resources and support of a birth doula to help them achieve the kind of birth they desire and what is best for them. Whether you plan to give birth in a hospital or at home, choose an epidural or an unmedicated birth, my role as your doula is to support you, ensure you’re informed, and help you make the best decisions for you and your baby. Being welcomed into your birth space is something I never take for granted, and I am honored every single time.

My doula fees are based on a fixed rate. They include 2-3 prenatal appointments where we discuss your past births if applicable and what your desire is for your current pregnancy and birth experience. Around 35 weeks we will meet and finalize your birth plan together and at 37 weeks I go on 24/7 on-call for you. Once in active labor I will be with you the entire time. My clock does not time out of your labor is on the longer side. Once your baby is born I remain with you until you’re ready for me to head out. We work on establishing breastfeeding with that is your desire and then we have a follow up postpartum visit once you’re home and settled.
