Kahla was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She is a wife and mother of three, one daughter and two sons, ages 13, 7, and 3. Kahla's own experience during the birth of her first child led her to discover her passion for supporting others on their journey through pregnancy, birth and beyond. After a somewhat traumatic first birth experience, Kahla and her husband made the decision to hire a doula for their second child's birth. It was during this experience that Kahla recognized the profound impact a doula can have on the birthing process. Her newfound passion for empowering and supporting expectant mothers and families led her to become a doula herself in 2017. Kahla completed her Doula Training Course through DONA International. In the seven years since, Kahla has been a steadfast presence in the Jacksonville birth community serving families in hospital, home and birth center settings. Hello there! My name is Rachel Sultzer and I am a Certified Lactation Counselor, Certified Breastfeeding Educator and Certied Postpartum and Infant Care Doula located in Jacksonville, Florida. My passion for child and family care stems from my start as a childcare provider over twenty (20) years ago. Most recently my role as full time nanny quickly reaffirmed my strength in not only caring for infants and small children, but providing comprehensive family support - especially to new and nursing mothers. After serving as a volunteer “Infant Cuddler” for at-risk infants at the UF Shands neonatal intensive care unit, my dedication to helping children was deepened even more. After watching one of my mamas struggle with breastfeeding and experience first hand the the lack of support and education from the community of people surrounding her, I knew I wanted to do more to help; I had to do more. In July 2017 I received my Lactation Counselor Certification from Healthy Children Project Inc., Center for Breastfeeding. Under the guidance and mentor-ship of Kelly Googe, with Womb to World Doula Services, I have been able to work with lots of mamas in the Jacksonville area. As a Certified Lactation Counselor and Certified Breastfeeding Educator my mission is to educate the public on the importance of breastfeeding; to encourage and empower women to make decisions that work for them and to provide guidance and support during a such a delicate but amazing time in a mama’s life. Hello! I am a birth and postpartum doula in Volusia County and servicing within a 50 mile radius. I got started in the birth community after the birth of my daughter. I had a wonderful experience, in part due to the wonderful midwives who attended me throughout my pregnancy and labor, as well as the postpartum doula who came to my home at 2 in the morning to help me with her when I was losing my sanity. These experiences made me want to give to other women, and I found my way into doula work. It has been the most rewarding work I have ever done, and I love doing it. Outside of my work, I spend time with my daughter and my partner, I enjoy reading and playing video games, and I have two cats and a leopard gecko.
