I wish to hire a certified birth doula for my first birth. I am due on October 31, 2026, and I will be delivering at BC Women's Hospital. I am working with Strathcona Midwifery Collective for my prenatal care. I am planning on a low-intervention vaginal birth, if possible. I am particularly interested in birth prep and support throughout the birth process. I interested in exploring the tub birth options at the hospital. I am also interested in assistance/coaching with breastfeeding and learning more about lactation consulting, in case I need these services once my baby is born. Thanks!

Richmond hospital Help with labor and postpartum

Hi! Im looking for an overnight nanny asap, starting in August until mid/late October. Im looking for 4-5 overnight shifts per week. My son named Connor was born at full term (39 plus 1) on April 4th. Around mother's day, he started to show signs of respiratory issues and he was admitted to childrens hospital on May 24th. He was diagnosed with laryngomalacia and that affected his breathing and feeding. He underwent through surgery to remove excess tissue in his larynx. He was in PICU from May 24th to June 12th. Then, he was transferred to the ward and was discharged on June 29th. He has made significant improvements and can drink high volumes of milk. I will teach and guide the nanny in feeding, formula prepping, cleaning and sterilizing the bottles. He needs to be fed 2x or 3x overnight. He is 100% formula fed. Hi Nathalie, Our little girl has been having some issues at the breast since the day she was born on July 21st. She either is a) too comfortable that she falls asleep or b) too irritated that she won’t take. The great thing is her mom is producing a great amount of colostrum and her milk has started coming in. We just came home from the hospital for the first time on July 24th evening and had a rough night with our daughter crying and unwilling to feed. At the hospital, she did lose 12% of her body weight which caused us to stay an extra night and monitor her feeding. We had to top up her feeds with formula as well as pumped colostrum/milk but my wife would love to exclusively breastfeed and bottle feed later with beast milk. I will be giving birth at BC Women’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC and am looking for support during labor. I am getting care from a midwife team at Westside Midwives and have a healthy pregnancy and baby. Unless something surprising occurs, I will have a vaginal birth, likely with an epidural. I am curious but nervous about doing a natural birth. Alongside a midwife (and hopefully a doula!), my husband will be present as support during the birth. This is my first pregnancy, so I’m not sure what to expect! My budget is up to $2000, but we may be willing to pay more for the right person.

Lord willing, I will give birth to our third-born this October in Langley, BC, canada. I plan to give birth at my parents little cottage at the back of their property. I believe in natural childbirth and want zero intervention. I plan to give birth in Richmond hospital. I have given birth twice: 1) a healthy vaginal birth and 2) pre term birth at 19 weeks. This is my third birth, second child. I studied hypnobirthing and want to practice it throughout birth.

I plan to give birth at BC Womens Hospital with a midwife. My budget for a doula is up to $2,000 maximum. I would like to stay home as long as possible before heading to the hospital for delivery. I don't have too many preferences for the provider, but it would be nice if they had experienced labour so they can guide me. I am 30, first time pregnancy, looking for emotional support and someone to be my advocate if needed.

I’m planning to give birth at the hospital I’m not sure what our budget is. And I don’t know what my birth plan should be.

I plan to give birth at NRGH and my family doctor is an OBGYN so he will be my provider throught my pregnancy. I hope to give birth vaginally with some kind of medical pain management however its important to me that I be able to move around and Id rather not give birth on my back. Im looking into doula support because I would like to have help advocating for myself and some guidance through the birth process. I am historically a pretty anxious person and have previously experienced pregnancy loss. I dont exactly know what budget I should have Im just trying to get a read on prices? I dont have a whole lot of expendable income and would be absolutely willing to have a new/student doula. My sibling is a new doula and Ive seen how hard it was for them to get the first couple families so I have a soft spot for those starting out!
