About me
Hello there, I'm here to support you in your journey into parenthood - this starts with preparing you for the adventure of pregnancy, labor & delivery and postpartum period. I've worked with women in the fitness industry for 25+ years and love to equip women for a calm, confident birth and beyond. The tools you'll learn in pregnancy and childbirth will carry through for years beyond the delivery of your baby. As a Certified Body Ready Method Pro and Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT) I can offer exercises to bring balance to your physical body. Preparing your mind is so important for this whole process, and I have many tools to support you and your partner emotionally and in faith, you are wonderfully made! I do include your partner in the process! It's important for your support person to be educated as well and I enjoy teaching couples how to use this time to improve communication and strengthen your relationship. Most of all, I'm there for you. My style is flexible and definitely customized - no two moms are alike:).

Service introduction
I offer birth prep, full in person labor and delivery support and a postpartum follow-up visit. As part of your birth preparation, we'll have 2-4 visits where we'll discuss your priorities. This may include postural assessment and exercises to align your body for birth, strength exercises to address weak areas to support birth and postpartum recovery, mindfulness tools to prepare emotionally for birth and postpartum plus informational support as you make decisions for you and baby. Additionaly, I do like to include your partner in a session or two to educate them with tools for bringing you comfort and support in pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum periods. As your doula, I can offer support in many areas physically, emotionally and spiritually in faith and prayer. As we get to know each other, I can help you prioritize care that best meets your needs.

As an L&D nurse who has encountered multiple doulas through my job, I can tell you Susan is the real deal. I hired her for my own birth hoping to go unmedicated and I not only achieved that but had the water birth of my dreams. Susan was in contact for every fear that arose before labor and advocated for me throughout my birth so I could stay in my zone. She creates a space that feels safe both in and out of the delivery room. She preps you both physically and emotionally for optimal labor progression. Hire her, you won’t regret it!

Susan was truly everything I could have hoped for in a doula. She was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, caring, and supportive throughout my pregnancy and birth. She helped me feel prepared for the birth I hoped for while also helping me understand that birth can be unpredictable and empowering me to adapt when things didn’t go exactly as planned. I especially loved how she incorporates faith into her approach, which brought me so much comfort and encouragement. She was also wonderful with my boyfriend and made sure he felt supported, confident, and involved throughout the entire process. Susan’s impact on me goes far beyond my birth experience—she supported me through one of the most important seasons of my life and truly made a lifelong impact on me. She will always hold a very special place in my heart, and I couldn’t recommend her more highly. ❤️

We had Susan as our doula for the birth of our first son. Susan was always very attentive to our needs, very involved in the process and really honed in on the whole mother. Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, I felt supported from day 1 with working with her. My husband also was so thankful she was there during the labor and birthing process. She helped to calm nerves and was just such a calm and confident presence for both of us. My labor and delivery did not go to what I had planned, but Susan was there for us for my long labor, giving my husband rest and being a stronghold for me and doing counter pressure when I needed it. She gave us comfort when my labor took the turns I didn’t want or expect, and stayed with us all the way to the postpartum floor and ensured we were settled in. She even came for a postpartum visit and brought a care package and meals, checked in with me mentally/emotionally and physically, rubbing my swollen legs from labor. She seriously is like family to us!

Working with Susan for my first pregnancy was the best thing I did for my family. She immediately made me feel seen and cared for. Susan is extremely knowledgeable and supportive. She helped me not only prepare my body but also my mind for labor. She made home visits and virtual visits so I always felt supported and helped my husband understand birth and how to support me and our baby. We ended up with an unscheduled induction and with Susan’s experience I was able to have as natural of a birth as possible. She gave me the peace of mind during labor to ensure my birth plan was being followed and allowed me to just listen to my body and focus on birth. I had a great first pregnancy/birth experience and couldn’t have done it without Susan!
