About me

If you value both evidence and intuition, I might be the doula for you. I love helping clients combine research and their own instincts to make decisions that are right for them. Furthermore, I might be the doula for you if you want support without an agenda. I don’t believe there’s an ideal way to approach birth or postpartum adjustment. I’m here to understand and support whatever path you want to take.

Service introduction

I’m grateful to have become a birth and postpartum doula after several other life chapters (Peace Corps volunteer; elementary and high school teacher; university lecturer and researcher). What I love most about “doula-ing” is what I love most about teaching: both ask us to set ourselves aside, listen more than we speak, and center the well-being of another. It also makes me happy to put my research expertise to work helping clients understand the evidence around common interventions. As a birth doula, I provide physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, and the immediate postpartum period. If you have a partner, I also support them as they support you. And I center your wishes in hospital settings and help you advocate for your preferences. (I am familiar with and enthusiastic about the Spinning Babies(R) approach.) As a postpartum doula, I provide in-home support during the first few weeks to ease postpartum recovery and integration of your baby into the family.

I had the privilege of having Glo as my birth and postpartum doula, and I truly cannot recommend her enough. As someone who had always been terrified of giving birth, I can honestly say that my birth experience was not only positive, but actually enjoyable—and that was 100% because of Glo. During our prenatal session, she took the time to educate both my husband and me on all things birth. We left feeling informed, confident, and empowered to advocate for ourselves and make decisions that felt right for our family. Glo was an incredible support throughout the process. She always made sure we understood our options and the evidence behind them, but never pushed us in any particular direction. Instead, she fully supported every decision we made, which made us feel respected, calm, and in control during such an important moment. Her postpartum support was just as amazing. She provided immense emotional support during those early weeks, along with practical help with our baby, thoughtful guidance, and even assistance with meal prep and grocery shopping. Having her there made such a difference during a time that can feel overwhelming. Glo truly helped shape our transition into parenthood into such a smooth, supported, and genuinely lovely experience. We are beyond grateful for her and feel so lucky to have had her by our side during this journey.

We had never even considered bringing on a doula until some of my co-workers recommended it. We're so grateful that we followed their advice and even more grateful that we found Glo. Right from our first meeting we knew she was the perfect fit for us. She had a great energy, was super professional, and put our minds at ease, walking us through even the most complex decisions. As first time parents, we have no idea where we'd be right now without her and if we choose to do it again she'll be the first person we call!

Glory was our birth and postpartum doula and was absolutely incredible—a true godsend. What an exceptional human-being! She went above and beyond in every way, providing calm, knowledgeable, and compassionate support prior to and during labor and in the postpartum period. She has a calming presence, and provided love and guidance for our baby and family. Prior to our baby's delivery, she came to our home to teach us about the stages of labor, positions for labor, and helped us create a birth plan. As baby came early, she moved around her schedule to provide postpartum support (even helping us on Thanksgiving) and helped us set up the nursery, picked up my breast pump and baby carrier from the pump station, and prepared healthy/delicious meal prep (our whole family ate the burritos and fruit bowls she made). I'm convinced that's why my milk supply was and continues to be so high!! Her background as a Professor/PhD was extremely helpful, as she's whip-smart and so humble about it. No job was too big or too small, and she just made the transition so wonderful. If she had any down time while baby was napping, she reorganized all his clothes, packed away clothes he was growing out of, organized my pump station, and taught my toddler ABCs. We loved working with her so much, we extended her contract as a toddler specialist and she helped us with our toddler's transition to preschool. If you're lucky enough she is available for your birth/postpartum period, you need to book TODAY, as she books out for months! She is an elite top 1% doula, and a one-of-a-kind human being.

Working with Glo was truly a blessing. She is a gem! Her warm energy was always a welcomed addition to my home. I used her for postpartum support and she always showed up with a smile and can-do attitude, ready to do whatever (sometimes odd) task I thought would help me better and more easily fulfill my new duties as a mother. She was incredibly supportive and non-judgmental helping me navigate first-time motherhood. From baby wearing to breastfeeding, Glo was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. She also connected me with an amazing lactation specialist when I needed extra help with my baby’s latch. I especially appreciated that she was willing to help me tackle the every day problems overwhelming me, like the dishes and laundry piling up, humbly and without hesitation. She was a valuable part of my postpartum experience and will be forever grateful for her help.

When we started looking for a doula for my first pregnancy, I didn't even know where to start - I didn't even know what kind of help I needed but knew I needed support. I saw "Ears First" and was intrigued. I needed someone to listen to my concerns and questions big or small, and that's exactly what we found with Glory. From the first time meeting Glory, she was the grounded sounding board we needed as first time parents. No overwhelming information, no judgment. In a social media world where expecting mothers are bombarded with a million facts, "birth tips", etc., Glory helped me wade through the river of over-information with eveidence-based, science backed guidance while always leaving the decisions and opinions to me. Throughout my pregnancy she always check in on not only how my body and baby was feeling, but my head and my heart too. Her calm and gentle demeanor made big decisions easier to make. Come time for my hospital delivery, I felt confident in knowing my options, understanding interventions and I was really able to focus in on my labor, being guided through the process with recommendations from Glory to help labor progress. I had my dream birth and I know wholeheartedly that Glory's presence, support and detailed understanding of my desires was a driving factor in my ability to trust myself and follow my instincts. She helped me see my power. Every step of my pregnancy, delivery, and early postpartum was met with compassion, respect, and dedication from Glory. Having her as my doula was the best decision I made and I couldn't recommend her more. She'll be a forever friend of our family and we could not be more grateful for her!

Working with Glory as both our birth and postpartum doula was one of the best decisions we made. She is professional, trustworthy, calm, and genuinely goes above and beyond in every aspect of her work. Postpartum, she was incredibly helpful with both emotional and practical support. She took initiative without ever overstepping, followed our lead as parents, and created a steady, reassuring presence in our home. She was excellent at baby-related care and household support, always keeping our kitchen sink clean and organized, and preparing truly delicious, nourishing meals that made a real difference during recovery. She also helped us troubleshoot very specific challenges related to sleep, bottle feeding, and lactation, and when something was outside her scope as a doula, she thoughtfully referred us to an excellent IBCLC, which we greatly appreciated. She is highly communicative, responsive, and supportive, and consistently brought a warm, positive, and grounded energy. We trusted her completely and always felt respected and heard. As a birth doula, she invested significant time outside of our scheduled prenatal meetings, providing education, guidance, and emotional support. When I encountered a complication that required an induction, she was especially helpful in walking us through what to expect and how to advocate for my needs. During labor and delivery, she was exceptional at protecting oxytocin, guiding positioning, and supporting both me and my husband as a true teammate. Her presence helped us feel confident, informed, and supported through labor, delivery, and into postpartum recovery. We are incredibly grateful for her care and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for a doula who is knowledgeable, proactive, warm, and deeply supportive.

Glory was my daughter’s doula, and she helped bring my very first grand baby into the world. You can only imagine how scared and nervous I was, though I tried not to let my daughter see it. I worried I wouldn’t be the support she needed, and my anxiety was overwhelming. But the moment Glory walked in, everything ran so smoothly and I felt I could breathe. She was incredibly knowledgeable and informative about all things labor, which instantly gave us peace of mind. Glory wasn’t just there for my daughter, she was also there for me, keeping me calm and reassured. She advocated for anything and everything my daughter wanted during labor, making sure her voice was heard and respected every step of the way. On top of her guidance, she came prepared with thoughtful equipment like soft lighting and white noise, which transformed the cold, bland hospital room into a more comfortable and soothing space, for my daughter, and everyone else in the room, as well.

During labor, Glory’s presence was calming and encouraging. She supported my wife with comfort measures, breathing techniques, and guidance that truly made the experience more positive and empowering. For me as a partner, she also made sure I felt included and confident in how I could best support my wife. I thank god glory got to be there while me and my partner needed her the most

I am part of a program that supports pregnant women in need of shelter. Glory, without hesitation, generously dedicated her time and expertise. I can’t begin to describe how incredible she was throughout my labor and delivery. Her prenatal classes were not only informative, but also calming and reassuring—especially if you struggle with anxiety about labor. During my delivery, Glory made the entire experience smoother and more comfortable, not just for me but also for my loved ones. She was by our side every step of the way, offering support, comfort, and guidance. I truly believe that her knowledge, presence, and care played a huge role in making my delivery such a positive experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Glory to anyone who has the opportunity to work with
