About me

If you value both evidence and intuition, I might be the doula for you. I love helping clients combine research and their own instincts to make decisions that are right for them. Furthermore, if you want support without an agenda, I might be the doula for you. I don’t believe there’s an ideal way to ought to approach birth or postpartum adjustment. I’m here to understand and support whatever path you want to take.

Service introduction

I’m grateful to have become a birth and postpartum doula after several other life chapters (Peace Corps volunteer; elementary and high school teacher; university lecturer and researcher). What I love most about “doula-ing” is what I love most about teaching: both ask us to set ourselves aside, listen more than we speak, and center the well-being of another. It also makes me happy to put my research expertise to work helping clients understand the evidence around common interventions. As a birth doula, I provide physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, and the immediate postpartum period. If you have a partner, I also support them as they support you. And I center your wishes in hospital settings and help you advocate for your preferences. As a postpartum doula, I provide in-home support during the first few weeks to ease postpartum recovery and integration of your baby into the family.

My wife and I used Glory as our postpartum doula for several weeks following the birth of our son. She was incredibly helpful to us. We knew we wanted to wait a few weeks after our son was born before hosting our families, but as first time parents we also had a ton of “now what?” questions after getting home from the hospital. Glory helped us bridge that gap. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing there was someone there to help us through those early days, which can feel really overwhelming. She helped us get comfortable with the basics of feeding, diaper changing, swaddling, holding and soothing — all the things it takes some time before you fed confident as first time parents. Her focus was on helping us feel confident and figuring out our own methods for everything. She is extremely knowledgeable, caring, and easy to communicate with. We knew she was going to be an amazing help to our family from our very first meeting with her. I would highly recommend her services to anyone.

First time mom. I cannot say enough good things about Glory’s support leading up to and during the birth of my baby boy. She is thoughtful and attentive to your birth plan and goals, and also provides information on different options without pushing you in any specific direction. She is so calm and steady, it helped me and my husband stay calm and present during the birth process. Cannot recommend enough.
