I always felt like I had someone to talk to every moment I needed support. This was the first time I had a doula and this happened to be the hardest pregnancy (3rd) I truly enjoyed this experience, Tiffany’s company and support. The fact insurance covered this as well was phenomenal!

If you are considering doula care for your pregnancy, hands down, DO IT! I walked into my pregnancy and birth experience educated and knowing what I wanted, but Tiffany was essential in helping me to create not only my dream birth plan but backup plans with realistic expectations in case anything went awry. While I did get my dream birth, there were a few bumps in the road where we had to change directions and having her in the room during my delivery truly made a difference in my experience, because she helped educate, advocate, and cheer me on in moments of uncertainty. I also can’t stress enough how helpful it is for your support person to have a doula in the room, because my husband definitely needed that reassurance that everything was okay and my body was doing what it needed to do, even though things looked scary.

Having Tiffany as my doula was truly life changing! She was apart of my 3rd baby’s birth and even though in the past I have had super easy, uneventful births she still made this one so different. She taught me things that I didn’t even know I had choices about in the hospital. I had no idea what a doula really did and my insurance called me to connect me with Tiffany. From the start she was very attentive. I had heard of the term “birth plan” but really just wanted to survive birth and have a healthy baby. There was so much more to it! She went over things I had never even heard of and I was so grateful for that. I feel like I learned more from her than my OB! I felt truly ready for birth by the time it came around. I had to be induced and ended up being in labor for 30 hours on Halloween so at that point I didn’t feel that in person care was necessary. I have had 2 very traumatic birthing experiences prior to knowing anything about doulas, and decided to ask Tiffany if she would partner along side me and my husband this third pregnancy and she did. I felt stronger in advocating for myself and baby throughout the prenatal and delivery process, supported in my decision to try breastfeeding this time, and she’s got the resources and answers to all your questions. Tiffany was amazing from the moment I first called her to now even after the birth of my daughter. Tiffany is very educated in all the options one could essentially “choose from” for their birth plan. However she was not at all pushy or try to sway me one way or the other which was very comforting for me. She reassured me the entire time she was involved in our birth story, making me feel even more confident walking into the hospital to give birth. The support she gave in the delivery room was truly unmatched. It truly felt like another member of my family was there to hold my hand. We ended up with a NICU stay, and Tiffany was checking in daily on both me and the baby. For a postpartum mom that meant the world. I cannot thank Tiffany enough for care and support and just true and honest love throughout the whole experience lol. She is an amazing doula but just an even better person in general! I had a great experience with my doula Tiffany. She was very attentive with making sure I had what I needed as far as information with things I had questions about and she was very caring. She was punctual with appointments. Having her by my side made things easier and allowed me to have extra support, whether it was me just needing to talk or it was her telling me I’m doing good when I felt like I wasn’t. The cherry on top of it all was having her by my side during my C-section and helping me welcome my baby boy into the world and helping me with recovery, if I decide to do it all over again I would love and appreciate her to be there.

Tiffany is a fantastic person to have on your birth team! While my birth did not go as planned and I did not get to fully experience her in her true element, I know I was in great hands regardless. She offers informative classes and was always there when I had a question or concern. She was also there for me postpartum as a support and helped me feel good about how my birth went and the decisions that I made when having my son. She is familiar with the doctors in town and with the hospital which is a huge plus.

The support and care I received from Tiffany and Katie helped give me so much confidence with the birth of my first baby. They were both very responsive and professional and so so supportive. Katie was on call for my labor and truly felt like a family member in the room with us. She provided so many labor techniques to help with pain and positions to progress my labor. My daughters birth took a total of 20 hours and Katie was with us for 15hrs. She also checked in on us with a home visit to see how me and baby girl were feeling. So amazing!! My husband and I met Tiffany early on in our second pregnancy. We knew from the get go that we would do anything and everything to achieve a safe and successful VBAC. Hiring Tiffany felt right and we knew we could trust her after our first meeting. Tiffany is very educated on childbirth and all of the many birth plan options. She helped understand our birth plan, while informing us of other laboring options that we may not have known of. Each step of our pregnancy, Tiffany empowered me with confidence that my body knew what it was doing. I had fears since my first pregnancy ended in a c section, but whenever I had doubts, I knew I could text Tiffany and she would help me get out of that headspace. Tiffany is passionate about helping other woman and childbirth. I quickly learned that she worked in a birthing center, where natural birthing methods are used. Knowing that I wanted a hospital birth, an epidural, hep b vaccine and vitamin k, I never once felt judged by my decisions of my birth plan and always felt highly respected. During labor, Tiffany helped remind me of my birth plan wishes and empowered me to stand my ground when my doctor wanted to perform AROM too early. I felt pressure to give in, but Tiffany’s reminder of my birthplan and the facts behind my decision helped me find my voice in the most vulnerable situation. While in labor, my epidural failed and I was experiencing excruciating pain. Tiffany stood beside my husband and I, while reminding me to breath and supporting me with other comforting techniques. I don’t want to think about what labor would have been like without her! If you’re on the fence about hiring Black River Birth Services, here is your sign to give them a call and see if it would be a good fit. I will personally never have another child without Tiffany’s doula support and will always recommend her to all of my pregnant friends. I was planning for a vba2c (vaginal birth after two cesarean sections) so I definitely wanted a doula in my corner as an extra support person and advocate. I spent MONTHS looking for a doula to no avail. One night I saw an ad on Facebook for Black River Birth Services and I especially like that it said she was certified in VBAC. I didn't see the area I lived in listed as a a service area but I figured what could it hurt to ask. Tiffany ended up taking me on as a client despite me living 1.5 away and the place I was giving birth at 2 hours away from her! Tiffany was a wonderful resource in preparing for birth as I had never experienced labor before. At one point, she even came to my house when we thought I was going into labor but it was just prodromal labor. Due to going past my due date, I ended up being induced. Once things were progressing along, I asked for her to come up to the hospital. After 27.5 hours of labor, it ended in a c section due to the baby being in distress. There was no one better I could have had by my side! Lastly, I really appreciated her taking pictures during the process at the hospital since it was my first and last labor experience. Any time during or after the pregnancy, she has always been there for any questions or concerns I may have. My only regret is that we didn't get to connect sooner in my pregnancy. Thank you again Tiffany for all you did for me and my baby girl!! 💓

Get the doula!! My partner and I had Tiffany as our doula and we highly recommend her services. She supported us for 2 days as we went from home birth to C-section. Helping us navigate the hospital, relaying information to family members and helping us make informed decisions. She also has a lot of information and resources if you were to need anything else in your preparation. Can’t say enough good things!! We’re truly so happy in the decision we made to hire her for our birth and we will rehire her in the future if we have another baby.
