Greetings! My name is Christine Scarlett. I am a former pediatric nurse and now a certified birth, sibling, and postpartum doula. I am also a Certified Perinatal Patient Advocate, a Certified Lactation Counselor, Certified Educator of Infant Massage, and Gift Registry Advocate. Perhaps my best credential is being the mother of seven adult children and grandmother of many. I have had one cesarean, six VBAC’s, and sadly, one miscarriage. My personal experiences run the gamut of hospital, home, and waterbirth. I have many years of breastfeeding experience and do volunteer work in that field. My own journey involved an ambulance ride and a cesarean under general anesthesia, one misdiagnosed ectopic pregnancy a year later, and then three all natural hospital VBAC’s with a caring midwife and doula. Now that our family is complete, my passion is to help provide the same support that I was given, to women from all walks of life. I am certified through DONA International, the leader in evidence based doula training, have personally been trained by Gail Tully from Spinning Babies International, and I have served as a doula for over 80 families in northwest Ohio. Ultimately, I can’t control the end result of any birth, but I will always give supportive, sensitive and loving care. You will never be the same after childbirth. Unique from other IBCLCs and sleep consultants, I work with families to help understand & address the root cause of their baby's night wakings without ANY form of separation-based sleep training.
