Sierra Sanchez

3 years of experience

Way, iskwist Sierra Sanchez. Hello, my name is Sierra Sanchez. I am a descendant of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe of Indians and a Mexican-American. I have 3 years of experience under my belt as a doula and lactation peer counselor. I have supported hospital, birth center, and home births. I am confident in my skills and services and am devoted to continued development. Since 2025 I have really focused on bringing more culture into my work and connecting with my communities. I attended the first annual Returning from the Stars conference hosted by the Center for Indigenous Midwifery and completed their Indigenous doula training. I also began a part time position aiding Spokane Tribal Network in supporting local Indigenous doulas, such as myself. I look forward to future opportunities to progress the work we are doing in and for our communities.

We loved our experience with Sierra! From the first meeting her demeanor was warm and friendly, we were able to meet at a local coffee place and just chat initially and she really made it a comfortable experience. From answering late night texts and phone calls about general pregnancy symptoms, to birthing positions, to helping me with breast feeding postpartum, her knowledge and expertise has been priceless. She was very present for my labor and helped reexplain things the doctors were saying when I couldn’t quite process during contractions. It was wonderful to have another support other than my husband during labor, as well as someone willing to take photos so my husband could just focus on me. If you’re on the fence about having a doula I couldn’t recommend it enough! If we were ever to have another child in the future we wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to Sierra again.

My name is Kelsey Smith. I am a wife, mother, RN, Lactation Educator and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. In 2015, my daughter was born and so was my passion for the world of lactation. With both children, breastfeeding didn't come easily. Each new child brought new challenges that with hard work and perseverance, we ultimately overcame. I saw this world that could be so beautiful and so incredibly frustrating all at the same time and knew I wanted to be a part of it. My experience and challenges led me to want to help others entering the world of breastfeeding. As a registered nurse, I've seen first hand the lack of support offered to mothers during the post partum period and knew I wanted to be part of that change. This led me to begin my journey to become a Lactation Consultant. I love working with families to help them meet their breastfeeding goals, whatever those may be. I am a graduate of the Pathway 2 Lactation Consultant program through UCSD and have also served as a mother to mother support with La Leche League International since 2016. I also hold a current membership with the international organization ILCA. Being a mom is hard enough, and trying to navigate it alone is even harder. Thank you for inviting me into your family and letting me become a part of your journey. xo, Kelsey

Nicki was an excellent doula!! First of all, Nicki is an incredible person and is very kind and nonjudgmental. She wants what is best for you and wants to make you feel comfortable. She was very on top of things and always responded to my texts quickly. She is definitely very knowledgeable and knows her stuff! I was confident with her as my doula. She gave me the tools needed to prepare for my unmedicated birth and helped me so much during my labor. She gave me tips and encouragement during active labor and believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. She is an amazing doula and I highly recommend her to anyone!

— Jenny, review of Nicki Ament May 2026

I found Nicki while trying to conceive and even though it took longer to get pregnant than I thought she was still with me all the way. She didn't need to but she regularly checked in on me to see how I was and what was next. So when I finally did get pregnant she was the first call! Nicki was personable, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. We made plans A, B, and C so we always had a layout for what we wanted should things change during the birth. Postpartum she was supportive in my breastfeeding journey, always willing and able to answer my questions. She even helped with tips for pumping for when I went back to work. You really get it all when you hire her as your doula!

— Alyssa P., review of Nicki Ament April 2026

As a chronic over thinker, and being in a new state and town where I knew nothing about resources for my pregnancy I found myself looking for a support person (outside my husband) that could help navigate me through my first pregnancy, and then; I found Nicki! Nicki constantly brought me peace of mind and always knew the right thing to say (and if she didn't, she knew when to tell me to reach out to a doctor for medical advice) as someone who was unsure about how beneficial a Doula would be, I now know that I will be using her services again if I ever have another baby. It was so beneficial to my mind, body and soul to have her support!
