I’ve got doula skills and am a birth expert, but what do I really do? I believe birth is a convergence of physiology, energy, spirit, psyche—and the deep wisdom of the birthing person and baby. Around October 2026, I should be able to start accepting insurance. My job? To honor and hold space for it and support it with everything I’ve got. I’m also a four-time postpartum survivor, and that experience lit a fire in me to make postpartum care stronger, smarter, and more supported for every family. I used to be a nurse in Brazil for 16 years. I would like to proceed in this area because I have always enjoyed working with prenatal and natal stages, including babies aged 0-6 months in the hospital. I decided to concentrate more on being a doula since it encompasses more of what I love to do. I have worked as a combination of an at-home nurse and post-birth baby care for mothers fresh out of the hospital. But since moving here instead of being a nurse again, I have decided to be a certified doula.
