Looking for a doula with a medical background to help ‘ translate’ and provide explanations of the process, to make the experience more understandable. Looking for guidance on how to choose a OB/ hospital to give birth. In addition, providing guidance on a birth ‘plan’ that will be health for me and the baby. We are going to give birth in a hospital. We would like at least 5-7 years experience. Preferably a doula that can provide pre birth and postpartum support. Mental health check ins, nursing strategies, sleep training etc. the more medical/scientific a background the better to help bridge real life to medical knowledge.

Update: looking for an individual who accepts TRICARE, even if it’s not in network. Having baby 3 at Hartford Hospital, due 2/11. Have never had a doula before, but am a little worried my husband might be traveling for the birth! Looking for services to be completely covered by Tricare ideally. Birth plan is hoped to be similar to others - labor as long as I can and then get an epidural. Have not had a C-section and am not planning on it for this baby.
