Hi , I’m Marissa. I’m 25 years old and I’m due October 24th 2026. My husband and I are having a baby girl. I am interested having a doula through my Medicaid Insurance. I just really need the basics of just an extra advocate to be there in the hospital. I think it’s the smartest decision to have someone else besides my husband advocating for me if hospital gives me push back. I am planning to do an unmedicated birth , with free moving and switching positions. I believe if you are stressed and only allowed to be just on your back it doesn’t promote a smooth delivery. I really want to stick with my beliefs unless it’s a serious emergency . I want the experience to be as natural as possible unless it’s urgent.

St Charles Hospital, 5k budget for midwife, limited interventions, epidural. For night nursing I would actually just need a few nights a week between the hours of 3pm to 12 pm every other week because of my work schedule with possible.

I plan on giving birth at Uconn health Center in Farmington, Connecticut. My budget is up to $1000. My current birth plan is to be induced on October 6th, 2026 because I have a high risk twin pregnancy as well as adrenal insufficiency requiring monitoring and stress doses of IV steroids. This is my 1st pregnancy. I plan on attempting a vaginal birth but am comfortable having a C-section if medically necessary.

This is my first pregnancy after a long journey of infertility and I really don't know what I am looking for specifically in terms of birth because there are so many options and I have so many questions and I would like someone to be able to help explain my options and how to best convey them and advocate for them.

I’m due with my second baby on 10/22. I’m delivering at Greenwich Hospital, and working with midwives from Northeast Medical Group in Stamford. My goal is an unmedicated birth with minimal interventions. My daughter was born in May 2025 in NYC. I went into labor at 39 weeks. I had a doula and made it to 6cm unmedicated, and opted for the epidural as I had been awake for over 24 hours and needed rest. Things progressed quickly from there and I had an uncomplicated vaginal birth. This time I’m hoping for a faster labor and to not need the epidural. I breastfed my daughter for 11 months and would have liked to go longer if I hadn’t been pregnant. The beginning was very challenging because of flat nipples. I primarily pumped until she started latching at 6 weeks, and things were relatively smooth from there. I’m hoping for an easier start to breastfeeding this time. I am a stay at home mom so hope to breastfeed for at least a year with minimal pumping. I know I will need early lactation support to achieve this. I’m looking to spend less than $2500 for a birth doula, and hope insurance will cover some. I’m looking for someone who will be very hands on in labor, and help me to labor at home as long as possible.

Just found out my wife is pregnant she is either 3 weeks or 7 weeks. First ultrasound is scheduled for June 1st. We are Catholic and are interested in learning about natural birthing practices. Want to learn about doulas midwives and how to have either a home birth or a natural hospital birth. Want to learn about how I can advocate for my wife so we don’t get vaccinations and unnecessary procedures. We live in CT and plan to contact with Hartford hospital for our care.
