I plan to give birth at UCLA Santa Monica. I really don't have much in the budget, maybe a couple thousand. I'm potentially interested in hypnotherapy and aromatherapy, but not opposed to an epidural, and would like a very quiet and calm environment with minimal yelling. Absolutely no circumcision under any circumstances. Apparently I have a chance at getting reimbursed for doula services if they work under a license of some kind, so that would be preferred. I have Blue Shield PPO, in case that's helpful. I'm 35 so "Advanced Maternal Age", and have been flagged as high-risk for my weight. This is my first baby and I plan to give birth at a birth center. My insurance doesn't cover a doula so my budget would be $1500. I would like my provider to have experience with severe back pain. I can not lie on my back and transitional movements are extremely painful. I want to gain better understanding of birthing positions that will be right for me.
