Hello Birthing Families :) I am currently a Doula Trainee servicing the Detroit area. As I aim to complete my certification, I am providing free prenatal, labor and delivery, and postnatal support to expectant families. My purpose in this journey is to lower the risks of Mother's experiencing birth trauma, lack of support, and feeling unseen and unheard in the hospital room. My role is to provide support and comfort, ensure your questions are answered and needs are met, and overall advocate for what you want from the medical providers who will be aiding you in birthing your baby. From the first contraction to the first 40 days—I’ve got you. I’m Jade, a birth and postpartum doula and mom of five from Detroit. I’ve been supporting families for over 10 years—through labor, birth, and those tender postpartum weeks. In the birth room, I bring calm, steady support so you and your partner feel confident and cared for. Once baby is here, I shift into hands-on help—cooking nourishing meals, guiding breastfeeding, and making sure moms get the rest and recovery they deserve.

I am a holistic full spectrum doula, death doula, childbirth educator, and nanny. I care for folks during all life and reproductive experiences. I keep autonomy, evidence-based practices, and body-mind connection at the forefront of all of my services.

Hi I am Maria, and I came to doula work after working in childcare for 8 years. After spending time with parents who had relatively no postpartum care or support, I soon started my training to bridge that gap. I believe that the postpartum period is one of the most crucial stages of pregnancy. Many parents experience feelings of loneliness, confusion, and exhaustion and it is Maria’s top priority to help parents feel their best during your fourth trimester. Maria believes that every family who wants a doula should have one. Promoting a judgement free zone, she happily works with families and individuals of any age, race, & gender. I am a DONA-certified birth doula practicing in the Ann Arbor, MI area. I believe that doula support is a right, not a privilege, so my fees are nominal and my services are above and beyond. In addition to the usual DONA certification training, I am also trained through Survivor Moms and I also volunteer with the Michigan Prison Doula Initiative, in addition to my private practice. I have no time cut-off, so if your labor is moving slowly, I will stay with you all the way. I have been told that my kindness, compassion and ability to listen and advocate has been a godsend to many of my clients.

After falling in love with my birthing experience, I wanted to help support other expectant mothers in having the birth experience of their dreams. During the pandemic I was becoming a first time mom and had no idea what to expect so I researched and found an amazing doula. My doula helped me gain the knowledge and resources needed to plan and have an unmedicated vaginal birth at a birthing center. After this, I became certified as a Doula through Best Doula. Giving birth helped me to realize that having a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies as well as 10+ years experience working with children and families did not fully prepare me for the preparation needed to give birth. That was the job of a doula and support team. Since this time, I have been working as a doula in and around Detroit❤️
