Amanda is such a huge blessing! She is very knowledgable and a comforting, supportive presence during such a vulnerable time. My husband and I were not originally going to hire a doula, but at the last minute (8 months pregnant) we decided we would want the extra support for our home birth as we are both first-time parents. We found Amanda through Facebook recommendations, and she was able to meet with us quickly, answer all of our questions (even bring up points we hadn't thought of yet), and provide us with the resources and knowledge to have a successful home birth. She does offer some prenatal education classes and while we were not able to attend the first session due to how late we found each other, the second session was so worth it - especially the exercises for pain management! The day of labor she was quick to respond to us and even coordinated with our midwife so that I could focus on my labor and my husband could focus on me. She provided excellent guidance and support to my husband so that he was the one comforting and helping me during labor and she was able to step in when needed. She even took care of our dog! We truly could not have asked for a better experience or a better doula than Amanda, and we have both said that we would absolutely work with her again if we are still in the area!

Amanda is amazing! She was constantly supporting me and answering all my questions through a week and a half of irregular contractions. When I woke up in active labor, I called her. She talked me through my contractions over the phone, and then met us at the hospital. When my contractions were intense and I was about to push our baby out, she helped me relax and talked me through them. Amanda suggested using a birthing comb to help with contractions/pushing which helped a ton! Amanda listens to your wants and needs and is extremely knowledgeable. If you are looking for a doula I cannot recommend her enough.

Amanda made my birthing experience such a positive one! Our prenatal meeting was so helpful in making my birth plan and discussing ways to labor at home until I was ready to go to the hospital. She does a great job of sharing her expertise while letting you feel confident in your birthing decisions. My labor was fast and hard but my husband and I could not have done it without the physical and emotional support of Amanda. Her postpartum visit was just as helpful as a first time mom to have her support and to ask questions during the healing process. I so look forward to using her for my next baby!

Amanda is incredible! I found her very last minute she worked with me trying to get to know me and my family. She asked amazing questions and provided great resources for me to help myself prep for birth. I called Amanda when I was finding contractions to difficult. Once she arrived she spoke softly and was trying to feel out what I needed. She offered suggestions and reminded me to drink water or to eat before thing got super intense. While my husband attended to our toddler Amanda was right there doing hip squeezes. She suggested different positions to labor in and once I told her I was struggling she saw where I was initially tensing up and gave suggestion how to relax during the contractions which was HUGE! I felt like she was the right amount of hands on for me specifically. She wasn’t over bearing or interrupting my focus but attentive to me the whole time. She was extremely encouraging and I was able to tune into her voice during the harder contractions and found her to be extremely encouraging. I don’t think my birth would’ve gone the way it did without Amanda support and help. If I give birth again Amanda is going to be go to doula.

Working with Amanda as our doula was such a fantastic experience. From the child birth education classes she holds, to prenatal appointments to thoroughly discuss the vision I have for my birth, all the way to the physical and emotional support during labor - she played a major part in helping us to achieve our dream birth. Amanda shows up armed with knowledge and provided unbiased information to me my entire pregnancy so I could make informed decisions that I felt confident about. Having her as my doula was a gift!
