I’m Madison Mellencamp, a holistic doula and women’s wellness practitioner serving the Indianapolis community through my practice, Whole Momma Wellness. Hello my name is Emma Maxey and I have been a certified birth doula for about two years. I am located in the Plainfield, IN area and eager to support expecting parents! I have great experience with pregnancy, with myself having naturally birthed my first three children (two of which are twins) and my last baby which I birthed prematurely via c-section. I have also helped clients achieve their desired birth outcome. My personal focus is on the importance of providing clients with informed consent so that we can achieve their perfect birth experience. It is also important to me to provide support to those that are experiencing pregnancy complications, as this group of people need extensive support where they may not be getting it. I have experience in bereavement care as well. I have also been working as a breastfeeding counselor. As a military spouse, Aubrey has attended births all over the country and has supported a wide variety of birthing situations and locations. Her 14 years of invaluable experience includes supporting active duty Military families in Missouri, North Carolina, Texas & Indiana and serving low/no income families through nonprofit Doula organizations in Missouri (The Doula Foundation) and Texas (San Antonio Birth Doulas). Aubrey’s journey to become a doula began when she was pregnant in 2010. She began to really educate herself on all things relating to birth in order to prepare for the water-birth of her now 15 year old daughter. In doing so, a spark was ignited within her and she knew she had found her passion as a doula. In 2011, she suffered multiple pulmonary embolisms caused by the use of hormonal birth control. While recovering, she kick started her doula career to help women become well informed of their decisions before, during, and after pregnancy. As a doula, her main goal is to help empower families to make informed decisions. No matter what a family envisions for the birth of their baby, Aubrey wants them to enter into parenthood feeling knowledgeable, supported, and at peace with how the birth unfolded.

I officially began my birth work journey in 2018 and have gone on to work as a doula, lactation counselor, and birth assistant. I feel the idea of supporting women in their birth journey actually took root with my firstborn in 1994. I loved and cherished the guidance I received from other women and provide the care that meant so much to me. I have 4 grown children 2 of which were hospital births and 2 home births.
