Traci Santangelo MSN APRN CNM: Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and started my career working in a local Labor & Delivery Unit. I then married a Yankee (don’t hold it against me), and he moved me to Detroit, Michigan, then to Miami, Florida, and finally to Chicago, Illinois—all for his exciting career. It was at the University of Illinois at Chicago that I received my Master’s in Nursing with a Midwifery designation and developed a deep desire to move back to the Lone Star State. I was tired of being cold! During that time away, I had two children (who have my heart completely), worked in some incredible hospitals as a Labor Nurse, and really developed a desire to serve women. Birth has always been my passion. I love every part of it! From the first positive pregnancy test, to watching a mother hear her baby’s heartbeat for the first time, to hearing that same baby cry at birth—I find all of it exciting and am in constant awe of how perfectly we are made to carry and birth a baby. I am a complete geek when it comes to the physiology of human development and can’t help but talk about developmental milestones because they are fascinating. Why wouldn’t you want to know everything about your baby?! I never tire of it. And I never tire of a woman’s need to feel validated, heard, and respected. She moved to Texas to pursue her Biology degree at the University of Dallas, where she also played volleyball. She received her BSN from Texas Woman’s University and worked in Labor & Delivery at Parkland before getting her Master’s in Nursing from Texas Tech University and becoming a CNM. She is married to her wonderful husband, Logan, and they have two daughters, Julie and Helen. Theresa has had the privilege of previously working in a NaProTechnology office, where she gained valuable insights into the remarkable benefits of Fertility Awareness-Based Methods (FABMs) for so many women. Through her experience, she has seen how these methods empower women to understand and manage their reproductive health. At BirthPointe, Theresa is dedicated to continuing her mission of educating others about FABMs, promoting awareness, and supporting women in making informed choices about their fertility.

Hi! My name is Shannon Sappington and I am the owner of Serving Hands Doula! I have been a doula since 2016, providing personalized support and care to my clients during their pregnancy, labor and birth! Before becoming a certified Labor Doula, I achieved a Masters degree in Counseling as well as a teaching certificate in elementary education. My educational background and experiences enhance my abilities as a labor doula. I have a nurturing and compassionate spirt and I believe that the best tools I bring into every birth are my heart, my hands and my voice. My goals are to equip you to be ready mentally, physically and emotionally, and to serve you during the journey of your pregnancy, labor and the birth of your baby. I have always wanted to be in birthwork, since I had my first child at 18, but never knew where I would fit in. A few years ago I learned what a doula was and knew that that was where I belong. Hello, my name is Raven! As an entrepreneur, I am familiar with the importance of being passionate about one's work. In my case, my passion for birth work stems from personal experience as a wife and mother of two beautiful souls. The miraculous and empowering births I experienced sparked within me a desire to guide and support others on their own journeys through pregnancy and childbirth. However, my path to becoming a birth doula was not without obstacles. Before conceiving my oldest, I faced some difficult pregnancy losses. To help heal and cope with these losses, I turned to writing and expressed my feelings through a love letter or poem dedicated to my future rainbow baby. This experience not only brought me solace, but also deepened my understanding and empathy for other women facing similar struggles. It was this profound sense of empathy and the desire to support and empower women that ultimately inspired me to become a birth doula. With every client I work with, I am reminded of the importance of providing emotional, physical, and informational support during such a transformative time in a woman's life.
