I serve clients seeking a positive birth experience in Vancouver, Burnaby and North Vancouver. My doula style is pragmatic, direct and non-judgmental. My clients have remarked that I provide a balanced mix of practical help and emotional support. My goal is to give new families knowledge and confidence about the childbirth process so they can go into it feeling positive and well-informed. I like to think of myself as the practical, evidence-based doula – with a deep reverence for the inherent magic of birth as well.

Jessica was an integral part of our birthing. She provided amazing support during a pregnancy, making herself available by phone, text, email and in person when we had concerns, or needed support. Jessica is an understanding, smart, reliable and supportive person who knows so much about pregnancy and birthing, and is able to provide advice and support as, you go through the adventure of childbearing. We feel so fortunate and lucky to have had Jessica as our Doula. As the supporting partner, when Jessica arrived during labor, she was able to take over the situation and provide my birthing partner with support and strategies as needed. Jessica knew when to give space, and when to take action, And was such a delight. After having our first child, I cannot imagine going through another birth without her. We are so thankful for everything Jessica. We are grateful for your involvement and Care

I have lived in the West Shore area of Victoria, BC (specifically Metchosin) for my entire life. My whole family is here and I love that I can spend so much time with them. I am extremely family-oriented and spend the majority of my free time with them. I live with my partner and our two young children in a beautiful home only a few minutes away from Victoria General Hospital (convenient!). I consider myself to be an introvert and love all things quiet! Reading, writing, painting, watching movies or my favourite binge-able TV shows (talk to me about 'New Girl' and you'll have a friend for life! #Nick&JessForever). Also a big-time Disney adult (no shame). I love all things Disney, especially DISNEYLAND. I can (and will) go on about it for hours. Don't get me started if you want me to stop at some point. I have always (literally always. Since I was a young child.) been fascinated by pregnancy and the birth experience. While other students dreaded the infamous "sex talk", I counted down the days. While other students were mortified during family planning class to watch a woman give birth, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. How incredible. How miraculous. Still, I never gave much thought to how I could work it into my own life, apart from "I really want to be a mom some day. I can't wait to experience this for myself.". I graduated from Belmont Senior Secondary in 2013 and have done a variety of jobs since then. Retail, fast food, grocery stores, even a call centre (for a week- that was not for me). In 2016, I started the Community, Family, and Child Studies program at Camosun College and discovered my love for helping people. The field I was happiest in was in childcare. I obtained my ECEA in 2018 and have worked in various daycares, as a private in-home nanny, and at before and after school programs ever since. In 2023, I obtained my ECE certificate from Pacific Rim Early Childhood Institute and went on to be the room lead at a 3-5 preschool, and then onto becoming a part of the management team at a brand new trauma-informed Indigenous childcare centre. I was part of the grand opening there and was so fortunate to receive some incredible learning about various Indigenous cultures, languages, history, etc. as well as trauma-informed training. However, since becoming a mom, I have realized just how challenging a job in childcare is when you have young kids at home. It's A LOT. I decided I needed a change in careers and I thought, how cool would it be if I could turn my passion, values, and interests into a career? After I accompanied one of my dear friends during the birth of her first child, I knew exactly what that career should be. That experience was so eye-opening in so many ways. First of all- what a beautiful and miraculous moment! I could watch a mother meet her new baby for the first time a million times and never get tired of it. Second, I saw first-hand what was missing in the hospital during her experience- and that was personalized and compassionate care, unwavering emotional support, and someone to make sure she was fully aware of what was happening to her during those scary moments. After that, I immediately started looking into Doula courses and fell in love with it. This is what I was meant to do. This is my calling. The ability to provide support and care to mothers, fathers, parents, and families in these life-changing moments is an honour that is not lost on me. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to do what I love and to love what I do. Thank you so much for allowing me into your homes, your lives, and your sacred space. And for taking the time to get to know a little bit about me. I can't wait to get to know you too!

Recent review

In 2016, when I gave birth to my first child, I want to share with you all how much help my dear friend Aeran was to me. At the time, I was living in the Surrey area and going through my pregnancy and birth journey with a midwife. Through my midwife, I learned about doula services and had already signed up for one. On the day I went into labor, mild contractions turned into active labor, and I immediately informed both my doula and my closest friend, Aeran—who had already experienced childbirth herself several times. (At that time, she was not a doula yet, but a very experienced birth “senior.”) When my contractions became less than 10 minutes apart, we headed to the hospital, and that was when the indescribable pain truly began. Even after arriving at the hospital, after a total of 17 hours of labor, I was finally able to hold my baby through a natural birth. (Halfway through, the pain became unbearable, and I did receive an epidural.) To be honest, the pain was so intense that my memories from that time are not very clear. Yet, the moments that remain vividly with me are almost all memories of Aeran caring for me so attentively. My husband and the doula were also by my side and did their best to support me, but throughout those long hours, Aeran stayed awake the entire night without sleeping even once (while my husband and the doula did manage to rest briefly). She constantly reassured me emotionally, telling me I was doing well, helped calm me down, massaged me wherever I needed, and took care of everything I required. And when my baby was finally born after that long and exhausting labor, the person who cried with joy—almost more than I did—was Aeran. (Sorry to my husband and the doula at the time, but I honestly don’t remember much about them;;;) As an immigrant, I gave birth without my own mother being able to come to Canada yet to help me. In that moment, Aeran played a role far greater than that of a mother. In fact, I don’t believe anyone else could have cared for me so devotedly throughout the entire night without any rest. So when I later heard that Aeran had decided to formally study and pursue the path of becoming a doula, I was truly overjoyed and cheered for her, knowing it was such a wonderful decision. I am deeply confident that her natural character, the way she treats people, and her strong sense of calling and passion for her work will shine beautifully in her role as a doula. Anyone who has experienced her doula services—whether as a mother or as a family member—will know that there is not a single exaggeration in what I have written here. I sincerely hope that this story helps someone who is reading this as they make their own choice.

When I realized my original birth plan with a midwife wouldn't be possible, I started to dread labour and birth. I was terrified of an overly medicalized process, losing my autonomy, agreeing to interventions I didn't fully understand, and the potential of lasting birth trauma. Working with Syllona changed everything. My labour and the birth of my son ended up being the most intense, beautiful, and transformative experience of my life, and I credit Syllona with much of this outcome. Her guidance and encouragement leading up to the labour allowed my partner and me to make the exact right decisions for our family. With Syllona’s grounded support, I confidently turned inwards, connected to my body in ways I never had before, and truly believed in my innate ability to give birth. Because of her, I felt empowered to guide my baby into our world, comforting him and letting him know he was safe. Thank you, Syllona, for guiding us and helping us bring our son into this world. I cannot recommend her highly enough to any expecting parents.

I am incredibly grateful to have had Rachel by my side during the birth of my baby girl. From the very beginning, she was so kind, accommodating, and genuine, and she made me feel completely supported and cared for throughout such a deeply personal and transformative experience. What stood out to me most about Rachel is that her care never felt business-minded or transactional. She strongly advocates for women and is truly passionate about her job. She was attentive to my needs, flexible with what I needed in each moment, and always made me feel heard and respected. Her approach is holistic and extends far beyond simply caring for mom and baby — she takes the time to consider the entire family and that personally gave me a great comfort. I feel so fortunate that she was part of such an important chapter in our lives, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for a doula who cares for the whole family with genuine love and intention.

Hello, I’m Nadine, a Certified Postpartum & Infant Care Doula, and mother of two wonderful girls (ages 7 and 9). I believe every family deserves to feel supported, rested, and confident as they welcome a new baby home. I was born and raised in Germany and have lived in the United States with my husband and our daughters for over a decade. My journey through motherhood — and across cultures — has shaped how I approach care: with empathy, understanding, and deep respect for every family’s unique values, traditions, and choices. Becoming a mother myself opened my eyes to how magical, and sometimes overwhelming, those early weeks can be. I remember the joy, the exhaustion, and the constant learning curve. Those experiences inspired me to become a compassionate advocate for new parents - someone who offers calm, unbiased support without judgment. As your postpartum doula, my goal is to create a nurturing space where you can rest, recover, and bond with your baby in your own way. I provide gentle guidance, emotional reassurance, and hands-on help — always honoring your decisions and beliefs as you find your rhythm in this new chapter of parenthood. Every family’s journey is different, and I’m honored to walk beside you with warmth, understanding, and care.

We feel incredibly lucky that we found Nadine to help us during the first six weeks with our newborn. As first-time parents, those early weeks were filled with so many questions and having someone as knowledgeable, caring, and reassuring as her by our side made such a huge difference. From our very first video call to our last night together, she was professional, dependable, and incredibly kind. She had such a calm confidence that immediately put us at ease, but what we appreciated most was how much she respected us as the parents. She always made it clear that she would do whatever we wanted and follow our preferences, while also being there to offer her professional advice whenever we wanted her perspective. She taught us so much during those first few weeks, including how to change diapers, bathe our baby, burp him, take his temperature, soothe him, and so many other little things that we probably wouldn't have figured out nearly as quickly on our own. More than anything, she helped us feel like we were actually capable of doing this whole parenting thing. That confidence was incredibly valuable to us. She was also so flexible and accommodating with our schedule, which we really appreciated as new parents trying to figure everything out day by day. Knowing that she was coming in at night gave us a sense of comfort and peace of mind during a time when everything else felt so new and overwhelming. We call her our night angel! Looking back, we honestly don't know how we would have gotten through those first six weeks without her. We are so grateful for the care she gave our baby and for the support and confidence she gave us as parents. We would wholeheartedly recommend her to any expecting or new parents. We truly couldn't have asked for a better person to help us through those first weeks.

Recent review

Jill was a truly remarkable birth and postpartum doula, and the best support we could have asked for through pregnancy, labour, and the early postpartum period. From the start, Jill helped us feel genuinely prepared and confident. Her prenatal support was thoughtful and tailored to our specific plans and preferences, covering everything from labour expectations to newborn care and infant CPR. It felt like a private, customized baby prep course, and because of her guidance, we didn’t feel the need to take any additional classes. During labour, Jill’s presence was exactly right. She gave us space when appropriate but was immediately there when needed. When our labour didn’t unfold as anticipated, she was a calm, steady presence who helped us think through options clearly and confidently during a stressful and unpredictable experience. Postpartum, Jill has continued to be an invaluable resource. She's supported us through the emotional and physical ups and downs of early parenthood with practical advice, reassurance, and effective techniques for settling our little guy. Jill is more expensive than some other doulas—and rightly so. Her experience, time commitment, and depth of care are exceptional. We felt we received incredible value, and it was without question the best investment we made to support ourselves through this major life transition. We couldn’t recommend her more highly.
