A mother of four herself, she began her journey to birth-work after experiencing first-hand the struggles of birthing her own children without assistance from any immediate family. Hi! My name is Lindsay Idler, and I am a certified birth and postpartum doula serving the New Jersey and Philadelphia area. Having doula support at the births of my 3 children unlocked my love for all things birth and supporting & empowering women. I believe everyone has a right to a safe, positive birth experience. My practice prioritizes nonjudgmental support, information for informed decision making, and helping moms and families advocate for themselves. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and our sweet dog. I also love a good fire pit, reading, and crocheting.

Being a Doula has brought much fulfillment into Jennifer’s life. As a Birth Worker, she enjoys being able to be a source of comfort and guidance for families. Seventeen years ago, she decided to become a birth & postpartum doula after working closely for years with her own grandmother, who was a midwife. Hello, I am Carmen Victoria, a local Doula in South Jersey. Originally from Havana, Cuba, but somewhere along the way ended up in Kingston, Jamaica. Over time, my education and family ended up in Florida. I came to Tallahassee and graduated twice from Florida A&M University, most recently with my Master of Public Health. My field of study and passion is Maternal and Infant Health. In 2022, I took a leap of faith and completed the Doula Workshop Training from Capital City Doula. Hello everyone! My name is Soleil Townes, I am the owner of Evangeline Birthing Services, which provides full-spectrum doula services to those in select counties in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I have a passion for helping queer families of color have beautiful birth experiences and receive the support they need whether that is grief support or adoption support. I fell in love with birth work during my years at Montclair State University where I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Family Sciences and Human Development. While there, I took a class called “Medical Humanities” where I learned the different health disparities different ethnicities have faced in our health care system. What stood out to me was how Black birthing persons have such high birthing mortality rates. And upon further research, I stumbled upon the beauty and importance of birth work. I have always had a passion for helping queer families of color, and this shines through my work. I have over 5 years of childcare experience before becoming a doula.
