I cannot recommend Sabrina enough as a birth doula! She brought so much support, calmness, and clarity to my birth experience. During the first half of my pregnancy, I kept going back and forth on getting a doula or not. When I met Sabrina at the GGDA doula meet and greet, I knew I wanted to work with her right away. Her ability to explain the birth experience, her support, and overall clear communication put me at ease. During one of our prenatal appointments she walked me through all the options for my birth preferences. She was very knowledgeable about all my options, but not pushy in any way. I really appreciated her ability to explain what the options were, why people may prefer them, and then how she would support me with each option. I really didn't have too many strong opinions going in, so this was incredibly helpful for me to reflect on what I wanted, without feeling any pressure. I ended up going into labor 2.5 weeks early and the process moved much faster than expected for a first time mom. The moment Sabrina stepped into the hospital room, she jumped into action and I immediately thought "omg, best decision ever to work with Sabrina and have a doula, I'm so happy she's here." I had such a positive birth experience, and I attribute a lot of that to Sabrina. Prior to have a doula and going through birth, I had a hard time comprehending the experience and how a doula would support me. I think the easiest way to explain is to share some highlights of her amazing work with me and my husband: At the hospital: * TENS, heat packs, and hands on pressure to alleviate contraction pain/discomfort. She actually got the TENS machine and heat packs on me within 30 seconds of being in the room. My labor progressed very quickly and this physical support felt amazing. * Helped me get and stay in position while getting the epidural, which was challenging with active contractions. The epidural process went very quickly for me because I had her helping me work through the contractions while having to stay still * Checked in with my husband as we prepared for the transition from active labor to pushing. I loved that he got some personal attention while everything moved really quickly around us. * Multiple nurses and doctors recognized her from previous births and were all happy to work with her again. She actively collaborated with them all throughout the birth. (This was at SF Kaiser) * While I pushed she counted, gave breathing reminders, and worked with the nurse to move me into position since I had an epidural * Stayed during golden hour to support with first latch and make sure we were all ok. Gave hands on support to help with latching. * Took AMAZING pictures right after the birth of my child on my chest for the first time and first skin-to-skin with my husband. I didn't even know I wanted these pictures, but I feel so grateful to have them. She really captured the moment in a non-intrusive way, and I'll cherish these photos forever. At home follow up: * We had to triple feed due to my son loosing a lot of weight within 24 hours. We were in the thick of newborn sleeplessness and our appointment with her brought us so much relief. She helped us with paced bottle feeding which was a huge game changer during time consuming triple feeding. * I was really frustrated with the hospital pump, she helped me with flange sizing and just affirmed a lot of my frustration. * Reviewed sustainable options for feeding and our own sleeping * Reviewed my own recovery and helped me prioritized my own healing, which can feel so hard when you are also a new parent I felt so supported by Sabrina throughout my birth experience, I don't think I can fully explain it in writing! Having a doula felt so abstract to me while pregnant, but I kept reading about the studies that show positive outcomes of working with a doula, including decreased chances of further medical intervention. This felt hard to understand until I actually experienced it. My husband and I had someone we trusted with us for the whole birth experience, who knew us and knew what I wanted. Nurses changed during their shifts and I had a doctor at the delivery I'd never met before. But having Sabrina as the constant, was so assuring, calming, and supportive. If you are looking for a birth doula I HIGHLY recommend Sabrina, especially if you want someone thorough, calm, knowledgeable, and who will support whatever type of birth you are hoping to have.

Hiring an overnight doula from Peaceful Passages was one of the best decisions I made for my postpartum recovery. Not only did my doula lovingly care for me and my newborn, she went above and beyond—prepping nourishing meals, providing breastfeeding support, organizing the baby’s nursery, and even helping with my twin toddlers so I could rest. Her calm, professional presence made my healing after a c-section so much easier. I was especially impressed by how seamless everything was—she was professionally dressed, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. On top of that, Peaceful Passages accepted my Carrot insurance and handled all the billing with ease, which lifted such a burden off my shoulders. This service was truly a lifesaver for me and my family. I felt cared for, supported, and able to focus on bonding with my baby. I can’t recommend their overnight doula services enough!

We believe families deserve information without judgment, support that respects their choices, and a team they can feel comfortable reaching out to. If you’re looking for support, please feel free to reach out. I’m happy to learn more about what your family is looking for and help connect you with the doula or support option within our team that may be a good fit.

We had such a wonderful experience with the Stork & Sprout North Bay team. From the beginning, Brittany made us feel supported and helped us understand how the team approach worked and what to expect. We also had the opportunity to connect with Juliana, Samantha, and Yohki, and each of them brought something different while still making the care feel consistent and personal. What we appreciated most was knowing we had a whole team behind us rather than feeling like everything depended on one person being available. Everyone was warm, knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely respectful of the kind of birth and postpartum experience we wanted. We never felt pressured or judged, and our questions were always taken seriously. Having local doula support here in the North Bay made such a difference for our family. We would absolutely recommend the Stork & Sprout North Bay team to anyone looking for thoughtful, dependable, and compassionate support during pregnancy, birth, or postpartum.

Hi! I’m Tunisha (Nisha), a passionate certified birth/postpartum doula, mother of three amazing kids. My own experiences with pregnancy and birth taught me just how transformative this time is, and my philosophy is simple: every parent deserves to feel empowered, respected, and safe, no matter how their birth unfolds. Before becoming a professional doula, I was the go-to person for my friends and family, providing hands-on support, encouragement, and care during their pregnancies and early postpartum days. I believe in 'mothering the mother'—offering calm, non-judgmental, and practical support to help you navigate this incredible journey. I would be honored to hold space for you and help you welcome your baby with confidence.

Tunisha became my doula when I was 7 months pregnant. Throughout my journey, we had zoom meetings and communicated daily. Tunisha always checked in on me and shared informative resources for my pregnancy. Fast forward to the actual day of giving birth. Tunisha came to the hospital with such positive energy and calmness. She guided me through every contraction by reminding me to focus on my breathing and by pressing on my hips and back (this got me through the pain). During the time of pushing, she spoke out with encouragement and I held on to her voice. She made me believe in my body and what my body was capable of doing. She was my advocate and my rock. Tunisha asked me if I wanted to labor and push in all the different types of positions; I did and I finally found a comfortable position. I gave birth unmedicated and this was an amazing experience. I always felt safe and secure with Tunisha by my side. I am forever grateful for the support of Tunisha.

Working with Katelyn was hands down the best decision we made for our birth and postpartum journey. She was truly irreplaceable, and I honestly know I wouldn’t have had such a successful, positive birth experience without her. From the start, Katelyn prepped both my husband and me so thoroughly that we felt confident going into labor. When a preeclampsia diagnosis completely threw our original expectations out the window, Katelyn didn't miss a beat. She immediately helped us pivot and had a brand-new birth plan ready, guiding us through every shift with calm, compassionate expertise. Her care didn't stop in the delivery room, either. As someone navigating postpartum anxiety, Katelyn was an absolute lifeline. She helped us ease into newborn sleep schedules, patiently answered our endless questions, and gave us so much peace of mind during those vulnerable early weeks. If you are looking for a doula who is knowledgeable, adaptable, and deeply supportive, hire Katelyn immediately. We are forever grateful for her!

Kim is great! We hired Kim as our birth doula and had a wonderful experience. - She's super knowledgeable & experienced-- with her prep sessions, I didn't feel the need to do any additional birth prep classes and I felt informed & empowered going into my birth. - I really trusted her to help us navigate choice and make good decisions that were medically safe & aligned with our preferences. This was a huge stress reliever for me-- it let me avoid sifting through endless info on the internet. - She helped bring my partner in to the birth experience and supported both of us throughout. - She worked flawlessly with the staff at UCSF. Kim felt like a trusted member of our medical team. This was especially nice when hospital shifts changed or when we needed help weighing options. - Her support during the birth itself was exactly what I needed, from physical comfort measures to brainstorming options to emotional support. We had a wonderful birth and Kim's support was a big part of that. Can't recommend her highly enough.

I spent the first six years of my career working in early childhood education. First working in a daycare, then moving onto preschool, and later working as a nanny. My time in early childhood gave me a great appreciation of mothers, children, and families. I found it incredibly rewarding to be welcomed into someone’s home and life to care for their most precious possession. As I worked in early childhood I simultaneously took certifications in my other passion, fitness. I began to learn about anatomy and how different perinatal bodies are to women who have not given birth. One of my trainings stated that 80% of women will be pregnant (and eventually postpartum) at some point in their lives. This special consideration stuck with me. It wasn’t until my husband and I decided to try for children that I fully understood the wonder of fertility, pregnancy, and birth. I became obsessed with devouring all the information I could on these topics and finally stumbled upon Ina May’s guide to childbirth. This book completely changed how I viewed birth and melted my fears of childbirth away. However, by the time I became pregnant navigating the often confusing OB and even midwifery world left me feeling dizzy. The entire process left me feeling disempowered and I knew I couldn’t go into giving birth from this space. This pushed me to train to be a birth doula to ensure I would have a positive pregnancy and birth experience. The training helped me to understand physiological birth, navigating the medical world, and what I wanted even in the event of an unplanned obstacle. I finally felt confident I could handle whatever labor could throw at me. My passion for birth was born out of necessity and I plan to use that same level of devotion to help other women. I truly believe my unique skill set and experiences have lead me to the field of birth work. I created Fit to Birth to combine all my knowledge and passions. I hope to provide resources, education, and support to pregnant women in Sacramento and beyond.

Hello! I’m Naoko. I am a Japanese-trained midwife, birth and postpartum doula, lactation counselor, childbirth educator, and mother of four. Before moving to the United States, I worked as a midwife in Japan, supporting families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Since moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, I have continued supporting families as a doula with compassionate, evidence-based, and personalized care. My approach is centered on the person giving birth. I believe every birthing person deserves to feel heard, respected, informed, and supported in making decisions that are right for them and their family. I draw on both my medical knowledge and my personal experience raising four children to provide practical, compassionate, and individualized support. I welcome families of all backgrounds, races, cultures, gender identities, and sexual orientations, including LGBTQ+ families. I support a wide range of birth preferences and experiences, including unmedicated birth, epidural birth, induction, VBAC, and cesarean birth. I reached out for support because I was feeling really anxious about attempting a TOLAC. I wasn’t sure if I should go for it, but after having many honest conversations, I felt completely heard and supported. That helped me make a decision I truly felt good about. On the day of my delivery, she came right away. Her bright encouragement and Naoko’s calming presence helped me shift from fear to confidence. In the end, I had a successful VBAC, and it turned into the best birth experience I could have hoped for. I’m so grateful I chose Naoko’s support and would absolutely recommend her to anyone considering a TOLAC or VBAC.
