My preference is an unmedicated vaginal birth, though I am open to an epidural and other interventions if labor calls for it. Because this is my first birth, I am looking for a doula who uses a fact- and evidence-based approach to help me and my partner navigate the labor process with clear data, statistics, and calm guidance. My main priorities for support are guidance through physical pain relief techniques, evidence-based informational support, and strong, seamless advocacy within a hospital setting.
