carrie is a rare combination of a professional (always on time, scrupulous about billing, always looking to add value) with a big, big heart. as a single mom with a toddler expecting my second son, i was pleased to find carrie through a referral. from our first meeting, i was impressed by her ability to innovate and think creatively about her role as a postpartum doula. she gave me the impression, which was confirmed time and time again over the following months, that her work is satisfying for her when she can make the lives of the families she is working with better and easier. and she brings experience, flexibility and creativity to figuring out how best to do just that. carrie spent her time with us helping with whatever needed doing, and she learned very quickly what kinds of things we needed help with (often before i knew myself). she cooked delicious foods, kept our home tidy and neat, fetched my toddler home from school, helped with laundry, and even did the shopping on occasion. she brainstormed with me about anything that entered my mind, from the mundane (how to organize my bookshelves) to the profoundly important (how to help my toddler adjust to his baby brother and how to cope with my newborn’s medical issues). most importantly of all, carrie provided kindness and warmth and love to my two boys, and unflinching support to me through it all. my toddler and i speak of carrie often and miss having the daily gift of her patience, encouragement, humor, and damn good sense in our lives.

What an absolute gift Carrie was to our family when we welcomed our daughter! As first time parents, we had a lot to learn, and I couldn't have asked for a kinder, more gentle, nurturing person to teach and support us along the way. And man oh man, does Carrie know her stuff! She's worked with more than 110 families, so she's a true expert when it comes to caring for newborns and postpartum parents. They say that all newborns do is eat, sleep, and poop...but I was surprised how much work goes into all of those things and more! Working with Carrie, you can rely on her for things like: -Feeding: breastfeeding and bottle feeding positions, recommendations for bottles/nipples/nipple sizes, burping techniques, pumping tips, help freezing/storing breastmilk, help washing/sanitizing bottles and pump parts, and even referrals to lactation consultants or other support people if needed. She'll also do the bottle feeding while she's there so you can rest or take care of tasks! -Sleeping: tips, techniques, and products to help with swaddling, how to use a wrap carrier/baby wrap to wear the baby for naps (!!), guidance/suggestions for how to encourage the right amount of daytime sleep, tips for how to "rescue" a nap when your baby wakes up 15 minutes in (it can be done!), modeling ways to bounce/shush/soothe a fussy baby to sleep, expert tips for transferring a sleeping baby to the crib or bassinet, and safe sleep recommendations for both naps and night sleep. She'll help the baby nap while she's there and hold the baby for a contact nap so you can rest, too -- so essential in those early days especially! -Pooping: she'll give you a break from diaper changes while she's there, and she'll answer all your weird questions about newborn poop (and you will have lots of questions!) -- and point you to your pediatrician when your questions are best answered by a medical professional. She's also great at helping newborns with gas and other digestive issues that contribute to a more difficult witching hour, and she'll offer practical tips and reassure you you're a good parent when you're dealing with the witching hour. -Other things: she cooks amazing meals and snacks (and texts you all the recipes so you can make them yourself later). She washes the baby's laundry. She helps with/teaches you how to bathe the baby. She organizes the baby's clothes and things for you in a way that just makes sense. She helps you figure out which toys/gifts from friends and relatives make sense for right now and which are better for an older baby. She takes care of the baby so you can shower or call a friend or clean your bathroom. She keeps your water bottle and your belly full. She helps you remember to take your pain meds. She makes sure you're comfortable. She helps you figure out how to make mom friends! She can recommend pelvic floor PTs and other support services based on your needs. Carrie was so essential to me finding and building my confidence as a mother and learning how to advocate for myself in my recovery at the same time. I don't know how we would've gotten through those tender first few weeks without her! And when my husband's leave ended and I was on my own most of the day, it was so helpful to still be able to rely on her to support me and the baby. And the way my baby loooooves Carrie! Now I am out of the "newborn trenches" with a happy, curious, growing baby and the skills and confidence I need to parent her well going forward. I already miss Carrie a lot, but it also feels like I've made a new friend. I would hire Carrie again without hesitation. She is such a special person!

I trusted Carrrie with my baby completely. She was at the ready to support anything we needed from cleaning the breast pump parts to putting the baby down. I highly recommend hiring her. She has the right balance of taking care of the baby and also giving tips, especially for new moms.

We were first-time parents and honestly didn’t realize just how much we would benefit from having a doula—until we met Carrie. From the very beginning, she brought a calm, supportive presence that made a world of difference in our experience. She effortlessly stepped in wherever we needed help, whether it was with newborn care, advice, making sure we had time to rest or even giving our dog some much needed attention! Carrie anticipates your needs before you know them. As a bonus, she's also an amazing cook! It was nice to have some fresh baked snacks or meal prep done so we could throw together dinner on our own. We’re so grateful for the support in our newborn phase. If you’re on the fence about hiring a doula, don’t hesitate—especially if you have the chance to work with someone as wonderful as Carrie!

As a first-time mom, I can’t recommend Carrie and her postpartum services enough. She was incredibly knowledgeable and intuitive with our newborn, cutting through the overwhelming and often conflicting advice from family, friends, and even medical professionals. She helped us focus on what felt right for our family, all while providing clear, evidence-based guidance. When we were too overwhelmed to even ask the right questions, Carrie stepped in seamlessly—offering thoughtful recipe ideas, product recommendations, and referrals—everything from a lactation consultant to a physical therapist. We feel so lucky to have found her. She truly helped make our postpartum journey as first time parents easier in everyway.

Carrie is the most wonderful postpartum doula. We were referred to her by our birthing doula after finding ourselves in need of daytime support. This wasn't even something that was on our radar and turned out to be the thing we needed most. She showed up the first day and we never wanted her to leave, truly. At fist I wasn't sure I would feel comfortable having someone at home with me, helping me take care of my newborn, but I immediately felt at ease with Carrie and looked forward to every visit. Carrie is incredibly intuitive which made all the difference for me at a time when I was completely overwhelmed. The last thing I wanted to do is have to communicate every need and want, adding to my mental load, but this was never the case. Her attention to detail, ability to just pick up and help and soon as she walked in the door were impeccable. I loved having Carrie in our home. It is hard to describe the way in which she flawlessly (and completely unobtrusively) supports both mom, baby and entire family. I've never felt so cared for or at ease. To this day she is the only other person that is able to put my little one to sleep besides me. She was the most sensitive, thoughtful presence for us - draping my pajama shirt over her shoulder and singing the same lullabies I would sing, we couldn't ask for anything better. She exudes professionalism in a warm way and has the calmest demeanor as well as an extensive knowledge of infants and child development. Our little one could not have loved Carrie more. The way she would light up as soon as she saw her face is something I will always remember. Carrie is an absolute must during those early postpartum months - we wish we could have had her stay on for years!

I wish we found Carrie sooner! Her expertise with caring for infants and her vast knowledge / resources she can offer helped us so much. I highly recommend booking Carrie as early as you can, especially if you are a first time parent. She helped us with healthy meal prep, baths, nail trimmings, pumping, bottle feeding, napping strategies, etc. 10/10 would recommend!!!

Carrie is amazing. She brings a sense of calm wherever she goes, and has an incredible supportive energy. She’s wonderful at anticipating needs without being asked, and an expert in all things postpartum. Whether it’s making a warm meal or snack, holding a hand (or baby!), or troubleshooting the highs and lows of this very special time - Carrie is my first choice. Thank you for everything you do!

Literally the best person in the world and a life saver. She was the magical fairy I never knew I needed. As a seasoned mother of two, I figured there was no reason to get extra help. I'd done it before. But was I wrong. Carrie was the caring friend and doula who not only took care of me but also my son. She helped to make sure our house was running and my belly was full. If there was anything she needed, she was always there to step in a help out in any way she could. I can't recommend her enough.

We had a great experience with Carrie! From the start, she was kind, calm, and easy to talk to. She helped us understand what to expect, answered all our questions. After the C-section, she was a steady and comforting presence. She supported both of us - checking in, giving helpful suggestions, and making sure we felt safe and confident. Her support made a big difference, and we’re so thankful she was part of our journey. We would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and experienced doula.
