I started Beyond the Bump Cincy Postpartum Doula services to support families in the Greater Cincinnati area about 3 years ago. We help new families get rest, feel more in control, and figure out how they want to parent. We offer non-medical evidence-based services.
Janet and Barb were such a blessing to me! I had my first baby back in December and would not have been able to get through the first 3 months without them! They helped with everything I needed, from cooking to laundry, to just watching my baby while I napped, even bringing my garbage cans in after trash day! Everything I desperately needed help with and didn’t even know I needed it. They are both truly amazing and I will be forever grateful for them!

Hello there, I’m Lucy Weidig. I’m a certified birth doula, postpartum doula, and newborn care specialist, devoted to serving women physically, emotionally, and physically throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences. I was born and raised in Michigan then relocated to Northern Kentucky in 2017. Besides being a doula, I love to learn about health, read fiction, go hiking, and do anything and everything with my amazing fiancé. Becoming a doula was never in my plans, but I have a passion for reproduction, babies, and all things women’s health which inspired me to take a doula training with ToLabor, an organization in Richmond, Virginia. My Christian Faith plays a huge role in who I am as a person as well as a doula, and I love incorporating this into the birth field. I can’t get enough of the amazing knowledge and potential around supporting and educating women in and around birth! I dream of experiencing birth for myself and raising my own family, hopefully within the next couple of years. Meanwhile I hope to support as many women as possible through this powerful, beautiful work!
Lucy did a fantastic job! She was able to press on some pressure points for me and helped me get through each contraction that way. It made a HUGE difference! She was also there for me in any little thing I needed and didn’t hesitate to meet me where I was at. She suggested different things for me to try and wasn’t too pushy or too laid back. I would 100% recommend her to anyone that is giving birth. Having a doula was so beneficial and Lucy was amazing at doing her work. 🥰

Hello! My name is Brittany Thomas. I am a jack-of-all-trades mother of nine children (and soon to be grandma!) I have always had a passion for helping women and children in my community with a special focus on first time mothers. I had counseled at a crisis pregnancy center for 6 years and unofficially supported close friends and family members through pregnancy, labor, birth, breastfeeding, postpartum and parenting for the last 15 years. I then finally decided to make a career out of it. I decided to train and become a doula through DONA international. I have completed my training and am a certification candidate who has completed all of the required reading and attended two of the required 3 births. I had my first child at 19 and knew almost nothing about pregnancy, labor and birth which resulted in a very difficult and traumatic delivery and postpartum. After that experience I was determined to research and learn everything I could about human anatomy, the female body and reproductive system, pregnancy, labor, birth and breastfeeding. I went on to carry and give birth to 6 more children (and breastfeed all of them) each of them having unique challenges which provided me with invaluable experience. It is my dream to see a time in which education and caring personal support of women, from pregnancy through postpartum, is normal and accessible to all. I would love the opportunity to help you feel prepared and educated to face the various challenges labor and childbirth presents. I will be there to support you through labor and delivery and cultivate peace and confidence no matter what type of birth you have.

I’ve been an IBCLC, in private practice since 1987. I’m the mother of 10 breastfed children including a set of twins, and 9 grandchildren. I have encountered pretty much every type of Breastfeeding issue there is in my years of practice. I love what I do. I accept most insurance with the exception of Medicaid as the state will not allow us to do so. Visit my website to learn more.

Adding a new baby to your home, whether it was through naturally conceiving, through fertility treatments, surrogacy or adoption, is a life-changing moment and you need support. My team and I can help! You don’t have to start your journey alone! My name is Mary and I am a CAPPA certified postpartum doula with additional training in perinatal nutrition. I was introduced to this amazing work over 20 years ago and realized my true calling is supporting and empowering families during their postpartum transition. I love the outdoors; my hobbies include hiking, kayaking and camping and I am an avid animal lover. I am also a music and trivia nerd. I am a mom and stepmom to five amazing (adult) children and I look forward to the opportunity of serving your family. As postpartum doulas, my team is here to support and guide you as your family explores this new terrain, commonly referred to as the fourth trimester. This term, coined by Dr. Harvey Karp, denotes the 3 months following your baby’s birth and is a time of great physical and emotional change as your baby(ies) adjusts to life outside the womb. It is also the transition period that families undergo as they adjust to life with a new baby. My team takes pride in providing you space to rest, recover, and bond with your new bundle(s) of joy while providing newborn care and tackling household tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, dishes etc. I offer non-judgemental, evidence-based support for you and your family as we believe parenthood looks different for every family. Our goals are to instill confidence in your decisions and empower you and your family as you navigate your way through the fourth trimester. Every family deserves care that is evidence-based, emotionally safe and inclusive regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or ability. I am absolutely honored to have the pleasure to serve Dayton, Cincinnati and the surrounding communities.
Mary is very helpful and caring doula. She supported me with tasks around the house and also emotionally. Highly recommend.

Hi! I'm Sydney, I am a trained birth doula through a DONA International approved workshop. As a doula, my personality fits authentically into my role in the birth world. Others have described me as having a maternal spirit and a compassionate heart. I am fiercely loyal and protective of the ones I care for. In my training, I learned about the entire physiological birth process, and understand the intricate yet safe birthing process that can unfold with the right support. As your doula, I will listen to YOUR needs and desires in achieving the birth you deserve. I value natural care over systematic processes. I am confident in finding alternative solutions with providers and advocating for my clients needs. I love serving others in big and small ways, whether that is running to get you your first postpartum meal, translating medical language, or braiding your hair, I am here for it all.
Sydney has been great to work with! Very excited to have her support during my birth!

Cheryl Bartone, MS, HCHI, CLD Cheryl brings a unique element to the birthing world with her passion for health-sciences and her love of natural solutions. She graduated from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine with a Master’s degree in Epidemiology and has worked for The Christ Hospital in a research setting. The birth of Cheryl’s two children had such a positive impact on her that she decided to train with CAPPA to become a labor doula. She wants nothing more than to support women so they, too, can have the births of their dreams. Since hypnosis was the tool that she used to have her own joyful births she completed her training with Hypnobabies to become a certified Childbirth Hypnosis Instructor. When she’s not working on statistics or supporting a mother in birth, you can find Cheryl alongside her chef husband helping him with a catering event. You may even find her playing video games with her children, walking her dogs, or digging in the garden.

Hi everyone! I’m the oldest of three so reminding mothers to take time for themselves and helping with children is very natural for me. Doula-ing (whether I knew what it was or not) has always been a theme in my life, and is something that has become very dear to me in the past few years. I’m a firm believer that knowledge is power, and with birth as no exception to that my main focus is always providing evidence based, informative care.

Hi all! I’m a labor and postpartum doula of 4 years, serving the greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas. Let’s doula this!
Cayla was amazing! As a first time mom she gave me the confidence and the information I needed to be comfortable enough to advocate for myself. I don’t think I could have labored at home for as long as I did without her positions and guides. Thanks to her guidance, patience, positive spirit, healing energy I was able to bring in my beautiful boy! Thank you Cayla!💕

I am Rhonesha Isreal, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I provide lactation services prenatally and postpartum via home visits and virtual appointments. After breastfeeding for 13 months, I recognized the importance of moms and other chest-feeding individuals receiving support throughout their journey. My goal is to support families from the time they are pregnant until they decide to wean their baby (voluntarily or involuntarily). I want moms to feel more confident and secure after working with me. I also want families to know, breastfeeding is not “all or nothing” and being comfortable and confident in their breastfeeding journey will change their daily outlook while they are nursing or expressing milk.
