I started Beyond the Bump Cincy Postpartum Doula services to support families in the Greater Cincinnati area about 3 years ago. We help new families get rest, feel more in control, and figure out how they want to parent. We offer non-medical evidence-based services.
This is great for the new mom or parents who know enough to know that they could use an extra set of experienced hands to ease the transition of a new baby. 3 home visits over a period of 3 weeks 6 virtual calls over a period of 2 months
This package may be a great fit for parents who have in-town family or support, but would benefit from some experienced, hands-on help as they adapt to a new baby. 4 home visits over a period of 2-3 weeks 6 virtual calls over a period of 6 months
This option is great for parents who may have experience bringing a newborn home, but could use support as their family grows, particularly with sibling adjustment. 6 home visits over a period of 3 weeks 10 virtual calls over a period of 6 months

We offer 4 hour daytime visits providing non-medical and evidence-based information in the first 12 weeks after the birth of your baby. We do some meal prep, light tidying up, and laundry. In addition to helping with the baby, so you can get rest and a shower, we do some sibling support and help with household organization. We’ll help you feel more in control. We also collaborate with a night nanny who does 8-10 hour overnight visits to help you catch up on sleep!
Janet and Barb were such a blessing to me! I had my first baby back in December and would not have been able to get through the first 3 months without them! They helped with everything I needed, from cooking to laundry, to just watching my baby while I napped, even bringing my garbage cans in after trash day! I had a stellar experience with Janet! I call her and Barb my fairy godmothers. They were immensely helpful in the 12 weeks after my daughter was born. They were there to help with the baby, thus freeing me up to shower, eat, and take breaks. They cooked, baked, tidied up, and did a bunch of stuff around the house that I would ordinarily be doing if I had the time. It was like having an extra me, and it was the difference between those weeks being manageable and me drowning. They were full of wisdom and resources and were perpetually positive and validating. I couldn't be happier with them and all they did for me and my family.

As a first time, mom, Janet and Barb were both extremely helpful to my husband and I. They are experts in all things postpartum and babies. They assisted us with meal prepping laundry, light cleaning, and I felt comfortable to be able to hand my newborn over so I could get some much-needed rest and shower. My husband and I were able to take a walk together in the early days, which was so special to reflect on the new baby and the birth. They are amazing women and have great connections and resources; even helping me find childcare when I went back to work. I will always be grateful for Janet and Barb helping me and those early vulnerable days when needed most.

I had a great experience with Janet & Beyond the Bump. The initial meeting a few months prior to my giving birth, she met with me to set expectations & lay how to best work with them postpartum. When I finally gave birth, two weeks before my due date, they were flexible to assist right away. A day after coming home, she came & immediately got to work making meals & picking up around the house. I felt such ease knowing the house was going to be tidy, because giving birth two weeks early, I was definitely not as prepared as I wanted to be. Janet made me feel comfortable, giving advice when needed but really just taking initiative on overall care. To this day, I recommend postpartum doulas to all my expecting friends.
