I gave birth to my beautiful first child, Margeaux, four days ago. We worked with a lactation specialist in the hospital and she seemed to be doing well and making wet and soiled diapers for two days before discharge. Since then, she has only produced 1 wet diaper a day and her feedings have become very painful for me, especially when constantly pursued over night. I am unable to sleep and my child refuses to sleep anywhere but on me and when she is awake she only wants my nipple. I worry my body is not producing enough colostrum. She is losing weight but the pediatritian told me to not supplement with formula and to always allow my child access to my nipples. Feeling very defeated and could use help. I have BluCross Blue Shield, but willling to pay out of pocket. In person visit or virtual visit is preferred. Please help. Alex

My Christian faith is very important to me and my family so I'd like to work with someone who has a relationship with Jesus Christ and is comfortable with how I want to integrate my faith into my birthing experience. I am planning for a hospital birth in Columbia, Maryland but aim to have an unmedicated experience, if possible. My newborn is 5 days old. Her latch was terrible at the hospital and caused sore nipples. Were day 5 and I have tiny little blisters. She seems to latch well at first, then it gets shallow and my nipple comes out like lipstick. I’m currently pumping in lieu and feeding formula, but I’d love to fix her latch and get her back on the breast asap! Please help. Would love in person visit if possible and hopefully covered by my insurance.

I tried to breastfeed my last child but she absolutely wouldn’t latch. I think I have flat nipples so she wouldn’t latch without a nipple shield that was too painful to use. I tried to pump but never had any milk output, I don’t even think I had colostrum. I don’t know if I was just doing it wrong or if I just didn’t have any milk. Because I don’t know what I was doing wrong, I don’t know how to do it right this time round. I think I need a prenatal appnt to figure out how to size everything right, methods, nipple healing when it hurts too much, tools and products to use. I don’t even know how much milk I should be able to get out in the first weeks or how to store and make use of pumped milk because I never got the chance to learn it. I’d like someone experienced and gentle. I don’t do well with blunt, tough love, especially postpartum. Lower budget would be nice but I don’t have much idea of what a consultant costs

Hi. I am looking for help with breastfeeding and pumping for my newborn son. He nurses frequently and has plenty of wet diapers, but my pumping output varies. Sometimes I get a few ounces and other times only drops, which makes me worry about my supply. I would like help checking his latch and making sure he is getting enough milk. I also need help with flange sizing, pump settings, and a pumping routine that works with my school schedule.
