Located in the heart of Fort Worth, Texas, I serve a 90-mile radius of “Cowtown.” Having had a homebirth practice previously in Abilene and San Angelo, Texas, I have a strong background in rural birth. Through my work, I work to prove that birth is not just a physical event- it’s a profoundly sacred, transformative journey. My heart is to walk alongside you with wisdom, gentleness, and strength as you welcome your baby into the world, right in the comfort and safety of your own home. With years of hands-on experience and a deep respect for the physiological process of birth, I offer care that is evidence-based, deeply personal, and grounded in trust. I am Shanna Hinrichs, and my story of community birth began over 20 years ago when I began supporting families as a doula, lactation consultant, and now midwife. I have known I was called to help women bring their babies earthside since I was a young child. I didn't know what that would look like, but I was fortunate to witness the intimate and precious home birth of a dear friend. That experience revealed my path as a birth worker and ignited my desire to serve women and their families in their most powerful and vulnerable moments. I am fulfilled by serving my incredible clients as their families grow. Attending births builds my trust over and over in women's bodies and their ability to transform and heal. I respect the responsibility of being a midwife and recognize the privilege of facilitating an experience that best supports my client's wishes. I believe that educated, informed choice is the best way for families to become empowered and make the best decisions for their pregnancy. That belief has afforded me the privilege to serve on the board of different cesarean awareness groups to help provide evidence-based information so families can make the appropriate choice for themselves and their current pregnancy. I am also a strong advocate for Vaginal Birth after Cesarean (VBAC) when it is the most appropriate choice. I was born and raised in Garland but have had the privilege to live in a few different states. I am married and have given birth to 9 children, each with their own distinct story. Having experienced 9 very different births and breastfeeding journeys, I have lots of hands-on personal experience to offer to you.​ When not engrossed in the birth world, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our 4 school-age kids still at home, and our dog and cats, as well as playing in the great outdoors, eating delicious food, and making our home in Rowlett as peaceful as a home with 4 kids (still living at home), a dog, and 2 cats can be. I was born and raised in DFW. My family and friends mean the world to me. Having a sense of community is so important. My favorite people in the world call me Aunt Dani! In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, practicing hot yoga, working out, going to church, and sewing. My faith has definitely helped shape me as a midwife. Hallowed means regarded as holy or sacred. To me birth is a very sacred experience that should be treated as such. Before stepping into the role of a midwife, I spent nearly three years as a labor and delivery nurse in a hospital setting. It provided me with a solid foundation and invaluable experience, but I slowly came to realize that my values did not align with the hospital culture. When I moved to San Diego in 2018 I decided to leave the hospital and pursue my dream of becoming a midwife. During my training I truly fell in love with home birth. Witnessing a baby enter this world in the very place they will grow up is an incredibly special and sacred experience that deeply touches my heart. During my midwifery training, I made the decision to move back to Texas, wanting to be closer to my family and friends. ​ After completing my midwifery education I began working at a birth center. The birth center was an amazing experience, but I am thrilled to embark on this next chapter of my career, returning to home births and reconnecting with families. Hello! My name is Tab’itha, better known as Tabby, and I’m a passionate certified professional midwife currently residing in Mesquite, Texas. I was born and raised in the Stop 6 area of Fort Worth, TX, and I am a proud mother of three teenage girls. From a young age, I always wanted to be a "baby doctor." My grandmother would often say, "You will be a doctor, and your sister will be a lawyer." Although I encountered quite a few roadblocks and detours along the way, I eventually found my way back to what my grandmother had always believed in, but in a way that resonates with me even more—becoming a midwife. I later discovered that midwifery was in my blood; my great-grandmother was a trusted midwife in her small community in Mississippi, which further inspired my journey. I graduated from Southwest Tech with an associate degree in Health Science and Midwifery in December 2024 and passed my NARM exam in April 2025, becoming fully licensed as a midwife in Texas. I am currently finishing up my Bachelor’s in Nursing at Arizona College, further enhancing my skills and knowledge in healthcare. My journey into birth work began in 2018 when I trained as a birth doula through DONA. As a doula, I have attended over 150 in-hospital and out-of-hospital births. When COVID peaked, I was fortunate enough to continue support in the hospital. It was during this time that I realized I needed to acquire the education and skills to become a community midwife sooner than I had originally planned. During my schooling, I attended an additional 95 births and worked with several well-respected midwives and OB-GYNs in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, gaining invaluable experience. I have also acquired skills and experience as a bereavement and cesarean/VBAC support specialist, allowing me to provide comprehensive care to families during significant moments in their lives. I believe in the power of compassionate care and informed choices, striving to create a safe and nurturing environment for my clients. My end goal is to become a certified nurse midwife and nurse practitioner, bringing holistic and woman-centered care to communities that lack representation, including the area where I grew up. As an avid homeschooler, I enjoy engaging with my daughters in their education while also finding joy in my hobbies such as sewing, crafts, hosting workshops for young girls, and assisting in the offices I hold in my church. Hi, I’m Andrea Carter—founder of It Takes a Village, midwife, mother, and passionate birth advocate. Originally from Gary, Indiana, I made Dallas my home in 2015. Though I dreamed of becoming an OB/GYN as a child, it was my own powerful birth experiences that led me to step into the world of natural birth and begin my journey as a doula in 2016. ​Since then, I’ve had the honor of walking alongside over 160 families as a doula and supporting more than 300 families as a student midwife. I am a proud 2023 graduate of Southwest Technical College, and today I serve families as a staff midwife at Swiss Avenue Birth and Wellness Center, in addition to offering homebirth services throughout the DFW metroplex.​ ​ ​​ As a mother of four—each born naturally—I understand the beauty, strength, and vulnerability of birth firsthand. My mission is to educate and support families so they feel confident, heard, and empowered to make the choices that are right for them. Traci Santangelo MSN APRN CNM: Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and started my career working in a local Labor & Delivery Unit. I then married a Yankee (don’t hold it against me), and he moved me to Detroit, Michigan, then to Miami, Florida, and finally to Chicago, Illinois—all for his exciting career. It was at the University of Illinois at Chicago that I received my Master’s in Nursing with a Midwifery designation and developed a deep desire to move back to the Lone Star State. I was tired of being cold! During that time away, I had two children (who have my heart completely), worked in some incredible hospitals as a Labor Nurse, and really developed a desire to serve women. Birth has always been my passion. I love every part of it! From the first positive pregnancy test, to watching a mother hear her baby’s heartbeat for the first time, to hearing that same baby cry at birth—I find all of it exciting and am in constant awe of how perfectly we are made to carry and birth a baby. I am a complete geek when it comes to the physiology of human development and can’t help but talk about developmental milestones because they are fascinating. Why wouldn’t you want to know everything about your baby?! I never tire of it. And I never tire of a woman’s need to feel validated, heard, and respected. She moved to Texas to pursue her Biology degree at the University of Dallas, where she also played volleyball. She received her BSN from Texas Woman’s University and worked in Labor & Delivery at Parkland before getting her Master’s in Nursing from Texas Tech University and becoming a CNM. She is married to her wonderful husband, Logan, and they have two daughters, Julie and Helen. Theresa has had the privilege of previously working in a NaProTechnology office, where she gained valuable insights into the remarkable benefits of Fertility Awareness-Based Methods (FABMs) for so many women. Through her experience, she has seen how these methods empower women to understand and manage their reproductive health. At BirthPointe, Theresa is dedicated to continuing her mission of educating others about FABMs, promoting awareness, and supporting women in making informed choices about their fertility.

Bethany is a Certified Professional Midwife and a licensed midwife in Texas. Her goal is to bring personal, safe, holistic care to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Many women go through the birthing process without a full understanding of what their care providers are recommending for their bodies and their babies. Because of this, she values ensuring families understand the benefits and risks of their options through: -informed consent -educating the families she serves -shared decision making between herself and the mother Bethany is passionate about helping families have natural, physiological pregnancies and births where women feel empowered and loved. Through her extensive continuing education, she incorporates homeopathy, botanical medicine, dynamic body balancing, and craniosacral therapy into her practice to help her clients remain healthy and on track for their best birth.
