Hi! I’m Jodie. I’m a birth and postpartum doula, and a NICU-informed doula. I’m a certified perinatal meditation guide, sound healer, and prenatal yoga teacher, so I really love bringing calm, practical tools into the birth space. I teach a prenatal birth prep course and specialize in helping families use evidence-based coping tools, breathwork, and mindfulness to reduce stress and anxiety throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I’ve experienced inductions, epidurals, unmedicated labor, cesareans, and a NICU stay, between my births and my past clients, so I understand how different every journey can be. As someone with a history of ED and body dysmorphia I have a passion for supporting people who have had or do have similar struggles. I am relatedly an active advocate against medical fatphobia and the associated myriad of non-evidence based biases against fat pregnant folks. My work is informed greatly by my own perinatal experiences, particularly in the realms of both birth plans and feeding plans changing, and the importance of the diagnosis and treatment of later onset postpartum mood disorders. In my free time I like to dismantle systems of white supremacy and patriarchy, tend to my indoor jungle, and build marble mazes with my kiddo.

Hi, I’m Meggie. My desire to become a doula began with my own birth experience. After an uncommunicative, uninformed, and frightening first delivery, I knew that if I was going to grow my family, my next birth needed to be completely different. I dove into educating and advocating for myself, and learned all about comfort measures. I carried those lessons into my second delivery. During that birth, I felt empowered and confident. I knew then that I wanted to help as many mothers as possible feel informed, empowered, and supported through pregnancy and beyond. With 15 years of experience in the medical field on both clinical and management side, I bring understanding, compassionate , continuous care to every family I work with helping them feel informed and confident in their choices. I am a wife and mom to two young spunky girls and 2 cats. When I am not doing birth work I love spending time outdoors whether its going to the beach to skiing down the mountain. After graduating from the University of Maryland in 2014, I traveled around doing some mission work, met my husband while living in Maine and eventually we landed back in my hometown to start a family. I bring six years of hands-on childcare experience, including three years working at a swim school and three years as a full-time nanny. I have recently finished my postpartum doula course. I recently became a mother in 2020 and to be honest, I didn’t have a great birth experience. Which is pretty normal. Until I learned that it didn’t have to be this way, which inspired my passion for birth work. I want birthing people to be empowered in their births and have the best experience possible.
