Hi, my name is Shakti, I'm a certified birth & postpartum doula, and also a certified yoga teacher (prenatal, postnatal...), and a healer / Ayurvedic practitioner, specializing in bodywork and h traditional healing & rejuvenation therapies. I love working with my hands, herbs, crystals, energies and other gifts mama nature provides. From the caring lens of Ayurveda I view pregnancy, birth and motherhood as a very sacred time of life deserving much respect, nurturing and care of the mind, body and spirit.I also believe in the profound wisdom and power of woman's body to give birth naturally and peacefully trusting her inner guidance. I'm rejoice with of the role of mama's supportive partner and their profound positive impact of her birth experience. Nurturing & rejuenation postpartum is extremely important, as the level of healing and recovery in the 'fourth trimester' is to impact many years to come. My intent is not only co-creating a positive, memorable birth experience, but wellness, happiness and harmony within all stages of parenthood. Besides standard care I offer many sacred rituals and ceremonies to make this stage of life even more special, and to deepen the healing aspect at all levels (if desired). I love working hard to prepare you and support you so you can have the birth of your dreams! I love supporting you in the weeks postpartum, helping to create magical healing sanctuary where you can rest, recover and deeply bond with your baby. I spend a lot of time in nature, especially in water. I love to swim in the bay and dip in local streams, talk to trees, admire the beauty of flowers. I enjoy working with my hands and heart. Besides healing touch to people I love to ride & massage horses, forage for wild herbs and make potions and medicines, dance, sing, paint, play my keyboard, and write (including children books). I love the work I do, and I love to spend time with my family I'm excited to be back in the doula world after several years of working 'behind the scenes'. I'm a mama of two grown children and one new baby grandchild.

I believe every birthing person should have the right to a trauma free birth experience, where their beliefs, values and goals are heard and respected. Birthing bodies are powerful. My goal as a doula is to remind you of the power you hold. I have worked in the medical field for 13 years as a Certified Medical Assistant, Lead Medical Assistant Instructor, recently completed my Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and gained Certification as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. I am a very motivated and determined person. As a dedicated mother and proud African American woman, my heart is deeply rooted in the wellbeing of our community. The glaring disparities in maternal health that disproportionately affect women of color are not just statistics to me; they are urgent calls to action that resonate with my own experiences and those of my loved ones. I am committed to leveraging my knowledge, resources, and voice to initiate and support sustainable changes within the healthcare system. My goal is to ensure that equitable, high-quality maternal care is not a privilege, but a standard afforded to all mothers, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Through community outreach, advocacy, and education, I strive to contribute to a world where maternal mortality in underserved communities is not a grim expectation but a rare exception. My mission is to fight for a future where every mother’s life is given the value it unequivocally deserves.

Hi everyone, I’m Brittany Maalona, owner and doula with Stork & Sprout, a team-based doula practice serving families throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. While you’ll see my name and photo here, Stork & Sprout is very much a team. Our doulas bring a range of experience, backgrounds, personalities, and specialties to our work, and we support one another so families have a broader circle of care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We provide birth and postpartum doula support, along with lactation support, bodywork, placenta encapsulation, education, TENS rentals, and other resources for growing families. Our team supports families throughout San Francisco, the Peninsula, East Bay, and North Bay. One of the things I care most about is making doula support feel accessible, dependable, and genuinely relational. We believe families deserve information without judgment, support that respects their choices, and a team they can feel comfortable reaching out to. If you’re looking for support, please feel free to reach out. I’m happy to learn more about what your family is looking for and help connect you with the doula or support option within our team that may be a good fit.

We had such a wonderful experience with the Stork & Sprout North Bay team. From the beginning, Brittany made us feel supported and helped us understand how the team approach worked and what to expect. We also had the opportunity to connect with Juliana, Samantha, and Yohki, and each of them brought something different while still making the care feel consistent and personal. What we appreciated most was knowing we had a whole team behind us rather than feeling like everything depended on one person being available. Everyone was warm, knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely respectful of the kind of birth and postpartum experience we wanted. We never felt pressured or judged, and our questions were always taken seriously. Having local doula support here in the North Bay made such a difference for our family. We would absolutely recommend the Stork & Sprout North Bay team to anyone looking for thoughtful, dependable, and compassionate support during pregnancy, birth, or postpartum.

Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are beautiful journeys 🌿. You deserve to feel informed, supported, and empowered every step of the way 💛. Having the right support truly makes a difference, and every family deserves that. I have been so blessed to be able to spend my first 4 years as a doula serving under a group, Modesto Birth and Beyond, and getting to learn from them. I’m so thankful for the time I got to learn from them but am looking forward to serving moms with the knowledge I have but privately now.

Rejeanna was there throughout my whole pregnancy, birth, and post partum. I learned so much during my pregnancy from her and she just really listened to me and how I felt. Then while delivering she was amazing and helped me as a first time momma after I delivered. She has not only been an amazing doula but she has also become a friend.

Supporting new parents during the sacred early days of parenthood is not just my work—it's my calling. I became a postpartum doula because I believe every family deserves to feel cared for, understood, and supported as they adjust to life with a newborn. My journey into this field began when I moved to California during my two years as an au pair, caring for young children and living closely with families. That experience sparked a deep passion in me for helping others navigate the tender, transformative moments of new beginnings. I saw firsthand how much of a difference compassionate, hands-on support can make —and I knew I wanted to offer that to growing families in a deeper way.

Brenda helped us for one month after delivery during the nights. As first time parents Brenda supported us very well. She taught us how to set up the nursery, bottle types, swaddles, baby safety, etc. She is a very knowledgeable doula! She took care of our baby boy very well. During the nights she was very attentive to our baby including routine feedings, diaper changes, cleaning bottles, laundry, and bringing my pump parents to me during the middle of the night. Brenda was always on time and provided a lot of insight on how to take care of our little one. I would highly recommend Brenda as a doula you can trust.

Kaila is simply amazing. She was with our family for the first ~15 weeks after our daughter was born (initially for 10 weeks but we loved her so much we extended). As first time parents we were nervous and a little crazed when our little one was born early at 38 weeks - from the moment she entered our home Kaila brought a calming warm energy. Not only was she incredibly sweet with our daughter, she was kind and supportive of us. We had great peace of mind knowing our little one was well cared for at night (and we got much needed rest!). Additionally in her capacity as a certified lactation consultant she gave advice and support, helping us monitor baby’s weight and advising on pumping / increasing supply when we struggled with breastfeeding. Kaila was sweet with our pups as well - she truly became a part of our family. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to help us through our first few months adapting as new parents. We’re more than happy to recommend her to any family looking for a reliable, kind and knowledgeable caretaker!
