The cost of a night nanny in Gardena, CA can be influenced by several factors:

  • Experience and Qualifications

Nannies with extensive experience, certifications (e.g., newborn care specialist), or specific training often charge higher rates.

  • Number of Babies

Caring for twins or multiples typically costs more than caring for a single baby due to the increased workload.

  • Hours and Duration

Rates may vary depending on the number of hours per night, the total number of nights required, and whether the arrangement is short-term or long-term.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities, such as bottle preparation, light housekeeping, or sleep training, can increase the cost.

  • Time of Year

Demand during peak times, like the holiday season, may drive prices higher.

  • Agency Fees

Hiring through an agency often includes placement fees or additional charges for their services, adding to the overall cost.

  • Overnight Rates vs. Hourly Rates

Some nannies charge a flat overnight rate, while others charge hourly, which can influence costs depending on the length of the shift.

When considering hiring a night nanny in Gardena, CA, it's advisable to research and interview several night nannies to find one who aligns with your preferences, needs, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs. Hi, I'm Nikki, founder of Maternalaide and a postpartum doula and Certified Nursing Assistant specializing in newborn and postpartum care. I support families during the early weeks and months after bringing baby home, with a particular focus on overnight newborn care, feeding support, healthy sleep foundations, and helping parents feel confident caring for their new baby. My approach is calm, practical, and personalized. Whether I'm caring for baby overnight so parents can get restorative sleep, helping establish sustainable routines, supporting feeding, or guiding new parents through the everyday questions that come with newborn life, my goal is to make the transition home feel more manageable and supported. I serve families throughout Manhattan Beach and the surrounding South Bay communities and offer both daytime and overnight postpartum support.

Nikki is an absolute rockstar! Nikki helped us for about 3 months. I noticed a positive difference with Rogan every single day after Nikki had spent the night. He was calm and super happy, and stuck to his schedule the next day! Nikki always came on time (or early) and stayed until she was sure he was settled. I was originally extremely nervous to have someone help us sleep train Rogan. Nikki's obvious care and love eased every worry, and I actually slept through the night. I can't say enough good things!!

Rachel Meakins is a doula, lactation counselor, childbirth educator, newborn care specialist, and maternal health advocate based in Los Angeles. Through her practice, Zenbari, she supports women and families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the transition into modern motherhood with a calm, highly personalized approach. With a background spanning pre-med studies, psychology, public relations, maternal health coaching, and perinatal education, Rachel brings both emotional depth and practical systems-thinking into her work. She is known for helping families feel informed, steady, and genuinely supported — not only during birth, but throughout the massive physical, relational, and identity shifts that come with becoming a parent. Her care combines evidence-based education with intuitive, real-life support. Clients often work with Rachel for guidance around birth preparation, feeding, newborn care, postpartum recovery, household dynamics, partner communication, and creating sustainable systems that allow mothers to feel more resourced and less overwhelmed during the early months. In addition to her private client work, Rachel works in maternal health education and community advocacy, serves as a Fair Play facilitator, and is a health coach focused on the vaginal microbiome and women’s health across fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum. Her philosophy is that mothers deserve thoughtful, coordinated care that considers the full picture — not just the baby, but the woman, her relationships, her recovery, her nervous system, and the life she is returning to afterward.

My journey as a labor doula began in 2021, driven by a deep passion for supporting families during one of life’s most transformative moments. With a strong foundation in newborn and infant care since 2015, I feel truly honored to walk alongside parents as they welcome their little ones into the world. My background includes working as a Floortime therapist for children with ASD, serving as an after-school program director, and capturing magical memories as a photographer at Disneyland. Yet, nothing compares to the profound joy of hearing a baby's heartbeat on a monitor and then witnessing their first cries as they enter the world. I am committed to continuous learning and aspire to expand my expertise as a postpartum doula and grief/death doula, ensuring I can provide compassionate care at every stage of the journey.

Courtney Falcon was our back up doula for our second child, but it ended up being a great experience and possibly even kismet. We were very lucky to have someone take charge in a warm and loving manner. We felt supported every step of the way. She even stayed many late hours after the birth to help make sure our son was stable and didn't have to go to the NICU. Without her diligence, our child wouldn't have been able to avoid the NICU- she was a godsend. She's extremely knowledgeable, and is always looking to expand her learning. She was always providing us with more resources than we even knew we needed, and not just about babies, but about child/toddler behavior as well. Courtney is also excellent with babies and children, and provided some child care to our family during our times of need. With her previous background working with kids, we felt our kids were in the best of hands. We cannot recommend Courtney Falcon enough to be your doula, please book her today!
