What to expect

I am a full-spectrum doula, offering, both Birth and Postpartum Doula Services. As a Birth Doula, I focus on prenatal education, birth planning, comfort measures for labor, and advocacy at the hospital to support your birthing preferences. On the postpartum side, I work to ensure that feeding (breastfeeding/pumping/formula) is well established and consistent. I work with the birth mother to process her birth experience and refer to mental health support if needed. Once the baby is settling into a feeding cycle, we work on establishing sleep routines and schedules. I also help with infant care such as diapering and bathing.

I've known Gayle for over 20 years, first as a friend and now as a fellow doula. She is a kind and gentle soul and a strong advocate for women. When she moved into the worlds of childbirth and new parenthood, she immersed herself in learning and in time with her clients. Gayle supports them in having the labor and early days of parenting they hoped for, and in feeling ownership and confidence along the way. She helps new parents trust their intuition, which lets them relax and enjoy their babies. She is a careful, quiet listener who offers wise counsel in return. Gayle is just the kind of person every couple or new parent wants by their side in these important moments.

Gayle was wonderful with my newborn son! She was caring, helpful, patient, and brought such a calm, reassuring presence during those early days. She’s a genuinely sweet woman who truly cares about the families she supports. I highly recommend Gayle to anyone looking for a dependable and caring doula!

Gayle was amazing to work with! She was so informative and really took the time to educate my husband and I before our delivery. She made sure all of our questions were answered and ensured we were comforable with the information she delivered. During labor she was so respectful of our boundaries and was always available to support us in whatever we needed. I could not have gotten through my labor without her. Post partum she was always available and our debreifing session was much appreciated!

Frequently asked questions

The last two weeks of pregnancy are some of the most challenging. Your body begins to change in so many ways. Aches and pains begin to appear in unusual places. Your back starts to hurt. You can't tell if you are having Braxton Hicks or early labor. I am available to you to help navigate this time. We will work on breathing exercises to help you stay calm through contractions. I can work with you and your partner on labor comfort measures, and the best way to push once it becomes time. We will also prepare to go to the hospital and know what to expect when we get there.
