I’m planning to give birth in a hospital, but I’m hoping for a low-intervention experience and would like to pursue an unmedicated/natural birth if everything is progressing safely. I’m looking for a doula who is very scientific/evidence-based and can help my husband and me prepare ahead of time, including developing a thoughtful birth plan and understanding our options and preferences around common hospital interventions. I’d also really value someone who can help educate us on the decisions we’ll need to make for the baby immediately after birth—things like routine newborn medications and vaccines, delayed cord clamping, skin-to-skin, bathing, newborn screenings, and other standard hospital practices—so we can understand the evidence, benefits and tradeoffs and make informed decisions with our medical team ahead of time. During labor and delivery, I’d love someone who can provide hands-on support, help with positioning and pain-management techniques, coach both me and my husband, and help us navigate decisions that come up while still working collaboratively with my medical team. I’m also interested in some postpartum support, ideally 1–2 visits after we’re home to check in on how both the baby and I are doing and help us navigate the early transition. Breastfeeding is important to me, so experience with lactation and practical breastfeeding support would be especially valuable.

First baby, planning on giving birth at Seton/ Ascension on w 34th. Prefer vaginal birth with epidural, if a c section has to happen am okay but don’t want it forced. Care is for advocating for the mother at the hospital, teach mom and dad the ropes of having a kid, and other. unsure what the budget is, open to discuss :), Unsure what’s provided but open to hearing more. I plan to have an unmediated birth at a Tricare approved off post hospital and require an approved Certified Labor Doula by Tricare. I need a doula that has submitted paperwork to be able to work with Tricare and is familiar with inputting the patient codes for tricare payment.

Hi! I am giving birth at a birthing center in Austin and I am interested in hiring a Doula.

I’m going to be honest I’m not really sure… All I know is I’ve been mentally and physically preparing my body for a natural birth; this is my first and I’m pretty young. I plan to give birth in my home, with hopefully a birthing tub which I’m trying to save for. I want a pretty natural birth, maybe some oils, soft music, yknow the basic calming vibe. Dim lights and allowing my body to do what nature does best. If no complications and baby arrives healthy, I wish for a lotus birth, let the baby get everything it needs from the placenta and I wish to breastfeed and do some skin to skin. And I wish to delay the first baby’s bath for when I feel ready. I honesty just want someone to trust in me trusting in myself because I’ve been through quite a bit in my short life so far and this experience I want to be beautiful and fulfilling … Price range I can do 1200-1800… if more I can do but maybe a payment plan.
