I’m currently 6 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I’m looking for a midwife who can provide personalized, supportive, and compassionate care throughout my pregnancy. I plan to give birth at a hospital near Avondale, and my birth plan is to have an epidural and prioritize feeling safe, comfortable, and informed throughout labor. I want a provider who will take the time to get to know me, answer my questions, listen to my concerns, and make me feel involved in decisions about my care. I’m hoping for a positive and empowering birth experience while also being open to whatever changes may be necessary to keep me and my baby healthy and safe. I’d love to have someone who makes me feel supported and confident throughout this journey.

I understand that plans may need to change for my safety or my baby’s safety. Labor and Environment * I would like to have a vaginal birth, if medically safe. * I would do an unmedicated birth. * Please explain procedures, medications, and interventions before they are performed whenever possible. * I would like freedom to move, change positions, walk, use a birth ball, and labor in positions that feel comfortable. Have access to birth bar * I would like access to a labor bathtub or birthing tub, if available and medically appropriate. * Please explain the hospital’s tub policies, including when I may enter and when I need to exit. * I would like a calm environment with dim lighting and minimal unnecessary interruptions. * I would like my support person present throughout labor and birth. * I would like encouragement, reassurance, breathing guidance, and comfort measures before medication is offered. Pain-Management Preferences My first choice is to labor without medication. I would like to try: * Breathing and relaxation techniques * Position changes and movement * Massage or counterpressure * A birth ball * Warm water or a bathtub * Heat or cool packs * Continuous emotional support If I request pain medication or an epidural, please support my decision and explain my options without judgment. Monitoring and Procedures * I prefer intermittent fetal monitoring when medically appropriate and permitted. * I would like to avoid unnecessary interventions. * Please discuss the reason for any recommended induction, augmentation, episiotomy, or other procedure. * I understand that continuous monitoring or other interventions may be necessary if concerns develop. Birth and Delivery * I would like to push in the position that feels safest and most comfortable. * I prefer to avoid an episiotomy unless medically necessary. * I would like my support person involved and encouraging during pushing. * Please explain any urgent changes to the birth plan as clearly as possible. Delayed Cord Clamping * I request delayed umbilical cord clamping, if my baby and I are stable. * If possible, I would like the cord to remain unclamped until cord pulsations decrease or stop. * If immediate clamping is medically necessary, please explain why when possible. * I would like my support person to cut the cord, if allowed and appropriate. Immediate Bonding and Newborn Care * I would like immediate skin-to-skin contact with my baby after birth, if my baby and I are stable. * I would like uninterrupted bonding time during the first hour whenever medically possible. * Please place the baby on my chest immediately after birth, with assistance and monitoring as needed. * I prefer routine newborn procedures—such as weighing, measuring, and bathing—to be delayed until after initial bonding, when medically safe. * I would like breastfeeding or the first feeding to begin when possible. * Please ask for my consent before giving formula, pacifiers, or supplemental feeds unless medically urgent. * If I cannot do skin-to-skin, I would like my support person to do it if appropriate. * I would like my baby to remain with my support person or me ALWAYS If a Cesarean Birth Becomes Necessary If a cesarean birth is medically necessary, I would still like: * My support person present if permitted * Delayed cord clamping if safe * Skin-to-skin contact as soon as possible * Immediate bonding and breastfeeding support * My baby to remain with me whenever medically safe * Clear explanations about what is happening Important Notes I understand that the health and safety of my baby and me come first. My husband and I are looking for an intimate family moment with guidance or help in an emergency. I've delivered 3 healthy baby boys so far. We are hoping to be able to make payments not one lumpsome payment. My husband would like to have the option for bloodwork and ultrasound. I am assuming ill need the rhogam shot as I've needed it with my last 3.

I’m 18 weeks with baby #2. Looking for a provider that is God centered and services home births

My first birth (June of 2025) was under care of a midwife who was planning to provide care for me at a birthing center. We ended up at a hospital after a long labor at home and a quick check at the birthing center. My midwives were worried about meconium in the womb and my water being broken for over 48 hours. I am now likely looking to birth at a hospital again but want stronger care and knowledge without backing down or "worry" when something gets in the way of the plan. Ideally I would love to do a homebirth one day but feel that this time I would feel more comfortable at a hospital. I don't know which hospital I would like to give birth at yet and am open to other options but really want to find someone who truly makes me feel cared for an known. I am only 4.5 weeks right now so don't feel any rush to find anyone yet!
