Hi! I'm Taja, a certified holistic doula and community breastfeeding educator. My love for birth work came from my own birthing experiences and my desire to offer more to those moms who just don’t know or who want to know more. On this journey, my goal is to elevate the mama’s experience and to hold a sacred space with her. I want her to feel supported in having a physiologic birth, no matter if she plans to birth at the hospital, birthing center or her home.

Hi, I'm Suzanne Nicklas! I'm a Registered Nurse, IBCLC, Doula and Health Coach based in Greenville, SC. As a nurse, my passion has been working with new parents and infants. I have worked with hundreds of families in my fifteen years as a lactation consultant and doula. I love educating families prior to the birth of their baby and particularly enjoy the postpartum period. As the mother of four, my own birth experiences led me to this work. I offer 24/7 on call Lactation "office hours" to assist families at any time of day or night. My passion for wellness started many years ago when I took the first of many health coach trainings, the first being through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I began health coaching in 2010 and since then my practice has transformed and grown in many ways. As I have grown as a person, so has my work. Along the way I have picked up skills based on my own personal interests and broadened my education and am able to share those with both my lactation and doula clients as well as my coaching clients. Some of these training include yoga, aromatherapy and reiki. It is my love of combining conventional and alternative philosophies of care that led me to Ayurveda and Yoga. After my last son was born I knew I wanted to cater to all birthing people and their partners. To be able to experience a natural positive birth as I did was a pure luxury to me. I had a vision of what more I could offer to birthing people and I can’t wait to bring my vision to life with each and every one of you! My first childbirth experience was at a hospital. As a first-time mom, I wanted the security and reassurance provided by medical professionals, and the hospital seemed like the safest choice. I appreciated the access to advanced medical technology, the availability of an epidural, and the presence of nurses and doctors to guide me through the process. Although I appreciated them if I would have known what I know now, or had the luxury of affording a doula I know my choices would have been a little different. The hospital setting did give me anxiety and being uninformed did not help with that at all. My second childbirth experience was at a birthing center. At this point, I was more confident in my ability to give birth and sought a more natural and calming environment. The staff at the birthing center provided a homier atmosphere with dimmed lights and soothing music. I felt more in control of my delivery and was able to move around freely, switch between different positions, and use a birthing tub. I was able to use the power of hypnobirthing during my second childbirth experience and it was truly life-changing. For the entire labor process, I felt absolutely no pain at all. The personalized care and attention given to me and my family were exceptional in the birthing center especially with them listening to me advocate for myself and my body. My third and last childbirth experience was at home. By this time, I had a strong desire for a true home birth experience. My home birth was the absolute most empowering moment of my life. I was surrounded by family only up until my transition phase in which my husband called my own personal Doula over and she gracefully helped me out of that last phase and to slowly breathe my baby out. My dedication to my clients is unwavering, and I am committed to helping you achieve a positive, safe, and fulfilling birth experience.
