After feeling dismissed and intimidated into making decisions against my better judgment during my first birth, I knew I wanted a different experience the second time and specifically sought out advocacy--hiring Britt as my doula was one of the best decisions I made. From the beginning, she was incredibly relatable and easy to talk to, taking the time to truly understand my preferences, concerns, and goals. Her background as a former high-risk RN, combined with her doula training, gave me so much confidence. She explained things clearly, helped me make informed decisions, and always made sure I felt heard and respected. No matter what questions or worries I had, she met them with patience and reassurance. Even though my birth didn't go as planned and ended in an unplanned C-section, Britt's support never wavered. She was a steady, calming presence throughout and helped me feel empowered and cared for every step of the way. I'm so grateful for her support and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly supportive doula. During such a vulnerable time where appointments can feel impersonal and too "routine", it was such a blessing to feel/know that someone really genuinely cared about me, my pregnancy and by baby!

Rechelle Patterson

Hi! I’m Rechelle, a trained postpartum doula and newborn care specialist based in Long Beach, CA. Growing up in Victorville, an underserved community with limited access to OB/GYNs and specialized care, shaped my passion for maternal health and advocacy. My journey into postpartum support began with an internship at Black Infant Health, where I saw firsthand the impact of culturally relevant care, especially for Black families facing higher risks and poor health outcomes. I trained with the DNT Network, a program that prepares doulas to provide high-quality, evidence-based postpartum and newborn care, because I value relationship-centered, accurate, and accessible care for every family. My background in public health, combined with personal experience supporting my brother who has special needs, has shown me the gaps families face and inspired my mission to close them. As a doula, my philosophy is simple: every family deserves compassionate, personalized support. I work closely with families to provide postpartum care in ways that are grounded, practical, and nurturing. Whether it’s feeding, soothing, sleep, light household tasks, or emotional support, my focus is on practical care that makes your nights easier. My mission is to reduce maternal health disparities while honoring the unique needs of each family I serve.

Rechelle was such a blessing during my birth journey. From the very beginning, she made me feel seen, heard, and cared for. She brought so much comfort and reassurance, not just for me but for my family too. Her presence was calming, her knowledge was grounding, and I I highly recommend her to any family looking for a dedicated and loving birth worker.

My passion for birth work began long before I knew what a doula was. I’ve always been drawn to mothers and deeply curious about pregnancy, how it transforms the body, mind, and spirit. I grew up knowing my mother’s birth stories by heart, and even then I sensed that she deserved more compassionate care and stronger advocacy. In college, a course called Pregnancy and Power opened my eyes to the realities of the U.S. maternal healthcare system and the consequences of highly medicalized childbirth. Hearing doulas and midwives speak about their work and the purpose behind it sparked something deep in me. I had never felt more aligned with a calling. Following that pull, I completed my birth and postpartum doula certification through Bini Birth in Sherman Oaks. Learning from Kathrin Auger and Ana Paula Markel only affirmed that this is the work I am meant to do. As a doula, my role is to support you in connecting with your own innate strength, intuition, and wisdom so you can make informed choices for yourself and your baby. Every mother deserves to be seen, heard, and supported without judgement. My goal is to hold space for you, steadily and compassionately, so you can birth and parent from a place of confidence, peace, and love.

Jane was absolutely amazing, and I truly couldn’t have done it without her. She made me feel so supported, strong, and cared for throughout my entire labor. She was also such an incredible advocate for my birth plan, helping make sure my wishes were heard and respected. Her calm presence, encouragement, and guidance made all the difference. I’m beyond grateful for her and highly recommend her to anyone giving birth.

We started working with Veronica as our postpartum doula when our son was born. From the very first night with her, we knew he would be in wonderful hands. She has the rare gift of balancing a reassuring confidence with a nurturing and calming presence. (She also has a great sense of humor, which can be a welcome breath of fresh air when you're exhausted!) As a first-time dad, I especially appreciated the reassurance and guidance she brought into our home during those early weeks. Our son felt instantly comfortable with her, and she even coined a nickname for him that has stuck to this day! Through her guidance, support, and newborn care education, she truly helped us get off to the best possible start as new parents, and we're hugely grateful for her. After the first month of working with her, we decided to continue with a series of sleep coaching sessions. When she returned after a couple of months away, it felt like no time had passed — our son definitely remembered her. Just two weeks in, and our 3-month-old is already sleeping 8 hours. It honestly feels like a miracle. Thank you so much, Veronica — we truly appreciate your care, your guidance, and the confidence you brought into our home during such an important time. We would wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for exceptional postpartum support, newborn care education, guidance for new dads, or sleep coaching — she truly makes a difference. I am a postpartum doula dedicated to supporting families as they welcome their newest little one. My passion for this work grew from a deep belief that parents deserve just as much care and nurturing as their babies. Whether you’re recovering from birth, navigating the early days of parenthood, or adjusting to life with a newly adopted baby, my goal is to create a calm, supportive environment where you feel rested, confident, and cared for. I offer a blend of emotional support, practical guidance, and hands-on help tailored to your family’s unique needs. As a mom of two young boys, I understand firsthand the joys and challenges that come with welcoming a baby. Those early days can be beautiful, exhausting, and everything in between — and it’s what inspired me to walk alongside other families during this precious season. It’s an honor to support parents as they grow their families, and I’d be honored to support yours.

I wasn’t sure what the balance of welcoming our second child would bring but I’m glad Kim was able to offer support through the adjustment. Kim provided much needed hands on help during the newborn phase and early postpartum period which helped me feel confident and better adjusted early on. She has a gentle and calm approach to supporting both mom and baby. I also appreciated her guidance and knowledge in navigating breastfeeding. I am grateful to Kim for her patience, support, and presence during this important transition for myself and my family.

My husband and I cannot recommend Luz enough! She was with us overnight from the day we came home with our baby boy until he was around 2 months old. We were very nervous to have someone take care of our little one but right from the start Luz put us at ease. She was warm and extremely knowledgeable. This was our first child and Luz educated us on so many things, without her we would not have known where to start. Our son is a very good sleeper and we attribute that starting with Luz. It was clear that she genuinely cared for our son and we will be forever grateful to her. Over 3 years later and she still checks in on us to see how he is doing. We would 1000% hire Luz again and if you do you will not regret it.

If you're considering hiring Angela, do it. It was one of the best decisions my partner and I made during my pregnancy, and I can confidently say she was worth every penny. From our very first conversation, we were drawn to Angela's calm, grounding presence. She immediately made me feel safe, and I had a strong sense that I would be well cared for, which turned out to be absolutely true. We were also impressed by her experience, her commitment to continuing her education, and her familiarity with both my OBGYN and the hospital where I delivered. What set Angela apart most was how completely judgment-free she was. From the beginning, she made it clear that her role was to support my birth, not impose her own opinions. From decisions such as considering an induction or planning to get an epidural, she always provided balanced, evidence-based information and helped me think through my options without ever trying to sway my decisions. She empowered me to make informed choices that aligned with my values and birth plan. During labor, Angela was everything I hoped for and more. She was my emotional anchor, a wonderful advocate in the hospital, and an incredible support for my partner. Since our families live far away, she filled such an important role for us, bringing warmth, reassurance, and steady guidance throughout the entire experience. After I got my epidural, she continued helping me labor by guiding me through different positions to encourage progress, and she always seemed to know exactly what I needed in the moment. One thing I especially appreciated was how she built genuine relationships with the nurses caring for us. She took the time to get to know them and even brought small appreciation gifts. It created such a positive atmosphere, and we ended up with an amazing care team that made our hospital stay even better. The prenatal meetings were another highlight. They were thoughtfully structured and left me feeling informed and confident going into labor. Practicing labor positions and comfort techniques with my partner beforehand made a huge difference, and seeing all the tools and techniques Angela had in her toolbox gave me confidence that I'd be well supported no matter how my labor unfolded. What many people may not realize is that Angela's care doesn't end after delivery. We scheduled our postpartum visit for the day we came home from the hospital, and it was one of the best decisions we made. She helped me get my recovery supplies organized, set up the baby's bassinet and other essentials, and made our transition home feel so much less overwhelming. One of the most meaningful gifts she gave us was a beautifully written birth story that she documented throughout my labor and delivery. It's such a special keepsake that I'll treasure forever. Looking back, I honestly can't think of anything I wish Angela had done differently. She exceeded every expectation we had. My partner and I are so grateful for her guidance, compassion, wisdom, and unwavering support.

I am a first time single mom and was worried about taking care of my daughter Emma, alone and recovering from birth at the same time. Violet helped me with both night and day shifts. Violets day shifts depended on my needs for the day. Some days she was just happy to make me lunch and do laundry for me and Emma. Some days I needed some time alone and she was there to do tummy time with Emma, put her down for naps, and sing to her. When she was on nights she was there to burp, change, and settle the baby down again after I breast fed her so I was able to sleep a little more. She always had cleaned any bottles she would use by the morning and would make us both coffee before I got up. She even gave me a slight discount knowing I didn't have a two income household witch helped me a lot in the long run.
