Hello everyone, I’m Laura, a registered Midwife, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and mum based in London. I created Real Mama to support parents through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, breastfeeding and those early days with a new baby. I’ve worked in maternity care for many years, both as a midwife and previously as a nurse and theatre practitioner, and I’m passionate about providing evidence-based information alongside genuine, compassionate support. As an IBCLC, I particularly love helping families feel more confident and comfortable with breastfeeding, while respecting that every feeding journey is unique. I’m also passionate about creating positive experiences for parents beyond the clinical side of maternity care. Through Real Mama, I offer antenatal and postnatal support, breastfeeding consultations, baby-led weaning guidance and Baby Salsa classes — because I believe becoming a parent should also be about connection, confidence, community and having fun! Becoming a mum myself has given me an even deeper understanding of the joys, challenges and sometimes overwhelming moments that come with having a baby.
