I am a certified doula offering grounded compassionate support through birth, postpartum, and end of life. I gladly work with all people and family structures / identities and I am a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ+ and progressive /alternative families and ways of living and loving. My approach begins with listening. I take time to understand the needs, hopes, and realities of each client and family, and from there we build a path together. Through birth and postpartum, I offer grounded presence, clear information, and ongoing support as you make plans, gather resources, and navigate change. I bring steadiness and care without overriding your voice, offering guidance while staying responsive to what you need along the way. My practice is affirming queer and welcoming of all genders, family structures, and identities.

Birth & Postpartum Doula services

I offer birth and postpartum doula support through thoughtfully structured packages as well as a la carte options. Services include emotional support practical guidance and evidence informed education before during and after birth. Sliding scale availability may be offered depending on circumstance and capacity. Insurance reimbursement is currently in process. Please reach out to discuss options and fit.

What does affirming doula care look like for LGBTQ families?

Affirming doula care recognizes that LGBTQ+ families may encounter both the universal challenges of birth and postpartum and additional barriers shaped by health care systems social norms and family dynamics. An affirming doula offers informed support that respects identities and family structures without requiring explanation or correction. This can include preparation for medical settings that are not always inclusive, support with communication, and advocacy and care that is responsive to each family’s expressed needs. At its core affirming doula care provides steady presence practical guidance and emotional support so families can focus on their experience feeling supported safe and respected.

What is it like to work with you as a doula?

Working with me means being supported by someone who brings both experience and care to the relationship. In addition to my doula practice, I have spent over 30 years working in health and human services alongside clinicians and patients with a strong focus on patient rights clear communication and informed choice. I also come to this work as the parent of three grown children which shapes how I support families with realism warmth and respect for the many ways this time can unfold. I offer a calm steady presence practical guidance and attuned listening so you feel supported informed and less alone as you move through birth and postpartum.

How do I know we're a good fit?

My commitment to this work is rooted in the belief that every family deserves supportive doula care. A good fit often feels like being met with respect, ease, and understanding. During a consultation we take time to talk not only about your hopes and needs but also your values and to see how it feels to be in conversation together. You do not need to have everything figured out. What matters most is that you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. Trust and relationship are central to this work and it is important that working together feels right. If we decide we are not the best fit I am very happy to help you explore other options and resources.
