Hi, I’m Melissa, a birth doula and HypnoBirthing® educator. My passion for supporting moms through labor and birth grew out of my own positive birth experience. I love helping families replace fear and uncertainty with confidence, peace, and trust in the birth process.

I'm Emily and I’m overjoyed to meet you during this transformational time in your lives. Walking with families through pregnancy, preparing them for and supporting them during birth is one of my greatest honors, a calling that allows me to help you feel safe, seen, and confident in the beautiful power of your body. With a background as a trained crisis counselor, EMT, perinatal researcher, and HypnoBirthing instructor, I bring a nonjudgemental, trauma-informed, and deep sense of calm compassion to your birth. During birth, I love to be that grounding energy that brings out your natural strengths, helping you to feel a deep connection with your family, and honoring the innate wisdom of your body. While supporting you, I lead with my hands and heart, with comforting massage, counter-pressure, and guiding you to find your rhythm through movement and breath! My philosophy honors both the science and the sacred, trusting that birth unfolds most beautifully when you feel emotionally supported and free from fear. I have lived in Florida all my life. My happy place is by the ocean listening to the waves. I am married to my college sweetheart and we have 3 beautiful, wild boys. I became fascinated by the magic and mechanics of birth during my first pregnancy in 2013. I had an emergency c-section followed by medicated and unmedicated vaginal births in 2016 and 2019. For all three, I had the same doula by my side sharing her 30+ years of wisdom. In 2023, I formalized my training and certifications and have been focusing on doula work full-time. Aside from parenting my sons, it is my biggest privilege and joy to serve mothers in this vulnerable time, and I look forward to knowing and serving you during your journey. I strongly believe it is the right of the birthing person to choose whatever path is right for them. Every body, baby and pregnancy is different. If you choose me to be by your side, my promise is to help you and your partner bring that vision to life. Katharine began serving birth clients in Los Angeles in 2009. She relocated to Jacksonville in 2022 to be close to family. She holds lifetime certification with Carriage House Birth. She offers in-person or virtual doula support, childbirth education classes, placenta encapsulation, and prenatal/postpartum consultations. Katharine is passionate about informed consent, education, and protecting sacred birth space. She supports people of ALL identities and family structures. Katharine encourages her clients to be open, flexible and well-informed, and to trust their instinctual knowledge of their babies and their bodies.
