Amber was an incredible support throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. From the very beginning, she was kind, understanding, and incredibly informative. She helped me clearly define my ideal birth plan by asking thoughtful questions I hadn’t even considered, which made me feel more confident and prepared going into labour. Throughout my pregnancy, Amber provided consistent emotional and physical support. She was always available when I needed to talk, and her calm, reassuring presence made a huge difference during such an important time. She truly made me feel supported in every aspect of my journey. During labour, she went above and beyond—bringing snacks, offering water and juice, and stepping in seamlessly when my partner was occupied with our other child. In those moments, she was exactly the kind of support I needed: attentive, grounded, and fully present. She also communicated my birth plan clearly to the doctors and nurses and confidently spoke up on my behalf when I wasn’t able to answer questions myself, which allowed me to stay focused and feel cared for. Her postpartum care was just as amazing. She came to my home with thoughtful treats and drinks, and truly took the time to check in on me. Even before the birth, she made sure I had a postpartum plan in place, including meals and self-care, which made a big difference in my recovery and overall experience. I’m so grateful to have had Amber by my side—I felt supported, empowered, and never alone. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula.

My husband and I were highly recommended and referred to Kathleen when we found out we had conceived our beautiful baby boy, and we are so incredibly grateful that we found her. She supported us from start to finish and was such a steady, reassuring presence throughout our entire pregnancy and birth journey. Kathleen is an absolutely lovely human — extremely educated, knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. She is incredibly respectful of personal values, beliefs and choices, and we always felt heard, supported and completely cared for in her presence. We were especially grateful that Kathleen was able to be there for the birth of our baby boy recently. She truly was an absolute earth angel to have in the room. I remember looking over at her a couple of times during labour just for that little bit of guidance and reassurance, and her calm, safe energy was exactly what I needed in those moments. I would wholeheartedly trust Kathleen with any of my births and babies and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone who is knowledgeable, compassionate, respectful and genuinely invested in the families she supports. We will forever be grateful that Kathleen was part of bringing our sweet boy into the world. 🤍

You will not be disappointed with your choice of grace for birth and or postpartum, I have had 2 babies. My first was a very traumatic cesarean, So with my second pregnancy I reached out to grace and asked about her doula care. She made me feel confident in all the decisions I had to make I decided to have a second cesarean so she was not allowed in the operating room with me but she talked me through just about everything that happened, she made me feel confident enough to say what I did and didn’t want from the birth workers. She also helped me find a Midwife to go with, when coming back from the recovery room with my fiancé and I’s new baby we were greeted with a smile and helping hand with whatever we needed. Not to mention grace went above and beyond when it came to postpartum support, she came into my home and helped, she did dishes and folded laundry, helped care for my oldest daughter. She also offered to watch both so I could have a nap. Grace is a superior human and an amazing birth worker, I’m so grateful I had her there with me through every decision In my last birth and you would not be disappointed with her at all.

Laurie Klager

Hi, I’m Laurie I’m so excited to be providing birth and postpartum care. I believe that good support early on means better outcomes for everyone in the family. Birth is a sacred, transformative time in your life—one that deserves to be protected, supported, and celebrated. As a mother to four kids (now aged 12 to 22!), I know firsthand how deeply impactful the transition into parenthood is, and how much the right support matters. I completed my professional training through the Douglas College Doula Training Program in June 2026 and am certified to support all types of birth, postpartum journeys, and pregnancy loss. My goal is to provide a calm, steady, trauma informed and completely non-judgmental presence for your entire family as you navigate these major life changes. Before answering this calling, I spent years caring for people in different ways. I worked as a hairstylist from home while my children were small, and later ran a cozy home bakery for eight years. Today, I weave all of those unique caregiving skills into my doula work—whether that means braiding your hair during labor, baking a nourishing treat for your kitchen counter, or simply holding space so you feel taken care of. When I’m not supporting growing families, you can find me walking the local trails, tending to the plants in my yard, getting lost in a good book, or enjoying time with my family. And yes, if you caught the nod in my business name—I am a massive, long-time fan of ‘Call the Midwife’.

Working with Mak has honestly been one of the best decisions we’ve made during this pregnancy. From the very first consultation, she was so kind, genuine, and informative. She came to my home, sat down with me, walked me through what her role as a doula would look like, answered all my questions, and instantly made me feel comfortable. I never felt pressured or “sold to” at all. If anything, she gave me the information and confidence I needed to make the best decision for myself. What stood out to me most was how empowering she was. She reminded me that I was fully capable of having a beautiful birth experience with or without a doula, which I really respected. In the end, I chose to move forward with her because I could tell her focus was truly on supporting both me and my partner throughout the experience. She also checks in often just to see how I’m doing and how pregnancy is going, and she always congratulates me with each passing week. It may seem small, but it’s been so encouraging and reassuring during this season, especially after 4 previous miscarriages. Our first official appointment together was amazing too. My partner was there and had such a great experience with her as well. She’s very hands-on in such a comforting and supportive way. She guided us through different exercises and learning activities without it ever feeling overwhelming. She brought dolls to teach diaper changing, diapers, a medicine ball, handouts for birth prep, interactive card games around birth preferences and important conversations, and so many other thoughtful tools. You can tell she really knows her stuff and genuinely cares about the families she works with. The heart she brings into her work is really special and has made this experience even more magical than it already always was!

I am a Mother of my lovely 6 year old son and my 2.5 year old daughter. As a birth and postpartum doula and the Founder of my Women's Wellness Organization 'Chikkitsa' I have dedicated my study and practice to Holistic health and wellness that focuses on the Mother-Baby dyad as a sacred union. I foster this union by ensuring the Mother's needs are met in the best manner with respect for traditional roots and cultural birth and care practices. I am skilled in helping Mothers prepare for natural labour and birth integrating movement, nutrition and breath work in my care. I have also led homebirths and helped mothers recover from a difficult birth especially an emergency C-section. I specialize in postpartum body care and pranic healing (a form of reiki) to help mother recover better and sooner so she can be present to her most cherished time of life with her little one and can actually enjoy this phase she worked so hard for.

I have worked with Gopika during my first homebirth. She was the perfect holistic postpartum guide and was fortunate to take her reiki, postpartum massage and counseling. What sets her apart is her ability to clearly see where the struggles stem from and how everything is connected. She is highly educated in women nervous system and work with the body as a whole. Highly recommend to anyone who needs prenatal and postpartum support.

How can I explain how much I love Kathleen? Definitely, I am forever grateful for meeting her. She showed me the confidence I had inside of me and the power I have to give birth to a new soul. I had a lot of fear and anxiety about giving birth and Kathleen’s presence and wisdom helped me overcome those fears and I am very grateful for that because giving birth to my son was the best experience of my entire life. I’m so thankful for her being there on the hospital room by my side, I felt safe and comfortable knowing she was there. Her energy is love and compassion, she has a lot of knowledge and experience, she is emphatic and nothing judgmental about your choices. I can keeping writing here basically forever about her qualities ❤️ Also I love the birth center and the classes she has there. It’s very convenient that you can find everything you need in her office, is like a physical center of knowledge and resources that are actually useful so you don’t have to waste your time looking for, it’s all there. 💕 I really hope she will be there for my next babies 🥰
